    Andy Scott thumbnail
Andy Scott HM kings of the heavy dirge.
    thomasw_ thumbnail
thomasw_ I know this LP was released in 2008, yet I still can't believe it isn't more popular on BC! I think it is one of greatest LPs - a desert island LP. HM knows the heavy, bruised and crusty spirit of the blues; and this album is a case in point. The paradox of beautiful ugliness is revealed through Creston Spier's vocals and the apparent contradiction is resolved through the guitar and drum work. Analogously, this is Leonard Cohen meets "When The Levee Breaks". This music goes deep and to the edge. Favorite track: Decades.

bandfan25 A lonely and chilling single!
    MeatHammer thumbnail
MeatHammer Dark and haunting atmosphere. Love the kick and snare as opposed to the more orchestral drums in a lot of DS. Great track!!!
    Ancient Call thumbnail
Ancient Call Very doomy, melancholic and epic. It is bursting with various emotions and evokes visions of desolate plains and forgotten magic.
    virdeus thumbnail
virdeus Dungeon Doom has never been made as pure and distilled as this. Can't wait for the entire album.

    underachiever thumbnail
underachiever So tough to pick from the two! However, Piety shows immense sadness for me personally within the first 5 minutes. It’s
so powerful yet melancholy simultaneously. I could say the same for “Pity” but that’s another journey for me. Justin Broadrick is the greatest!! Favorite track: piety.

Mount_Mourn The most morose sludge album I've heard. A deceptively orchestrated concept album about the deterioration of a relationship. Favorite track: I Know This Is All My Fault.
