I know this LP was released in 2008, yet I still can't believe it isn't more popular on BC! I think it is one of greatest LPs - a desert island LP. HM knows the heavy, bruised and crusty spirit of the blues; and this album is a case in point. The paradox of beautiful ugliness is revealed through Creston Spier's vocals and the apparent contradiction is resolved through the guitar and drum work. Analogously, this is Leonard Cohen meets "When The Levee Breaks". This music goes deep and to the edge.
