'60s surf and '90s indie mesh nicely in a fuzzy distortion that is Say Sue Me. Very chill. Makes me want to go to the beach. Strike that, it makes me want to go to Busan and catch one of their gigs! The cover of Genius (김일두)'s One Question is great!

I am fairly sure that this album could have come out at any point in my life and I would have played and played it. And I'm quite old. I did not expect this. I just love every song. I'm about to hit repeat when the next song starts and then I want to hear that one. Again. And again. And again. I don't want to say what else it reminds me of... it reminds me why I loved pop music in the first place. In a word: ACE.

I really like this alternate version of "Old Town" but the gem on here is the GBV cover. The original is an awesome song and the band made the song their own through this cover version.

I just discovered this great band.
On the slower songs they remind me very much of Velvet Underground & Nico, which is not a bad thing, particularly on Funny and Cute.
Favorite track: Coming To The End.

An absolutely incredible album which blends traditional Japanese instruments with Western jazz. Kept on coming back to this and just had to get the cd! It's entranced me with It's complexity and beauty.
VUKARI
A beautiful pairing of traditional Japanese style folk and modern jazz.

This is why Saury is my favorite funk master. Nobody is doing things like this in the scene. While everyone gravitates towards the obvious high pitched remixes with a some layers, here we have somebody actually constructing a city pop aesthetic that feels like it got unearthed in our current age. This is like a swan song of the end of the showa era in Japan. A soundtrack of a bygone era. After the release of METEOR I knew he had the chops for making soundtracks and this just confirms it.
