Jascha Narveson Somehow these slowed-down recordings of Alvin & The Chipmunks doing covers are better than the originals.

The drums are like an avalanche.

The singing just sounds fascinatingly sleezy most of the time.

Walk Like an Egyptian is especially epic, with ambiguously non-gendered vocals over a backing band that sounds like early era Godflesh.

This version of Heaven Is A Place On Earth might haunt me forever. As if David Lynch re-wrote my childhood memories of that song. Favorite track: Walk Like an Egyptian.
    lagsterfr thumbnail
