Frank Cevasco would it be considered naive to say that this album is to 2010s stoner metal what paranoid was to 70s hard rock? I think not. in retrospect, this album is equally as influential although not comparable in scale. give it a listen, you will like it. Favorite track: Hexe.

Spud Sorceress Elder are up there with King Gizzard for excelling across a variety of styles between albums. While Elder has less of an overall spread, the evolution of their sound is just as enjoyable. This debut features dark, gritty bass underpinning a more traditional stoner sound compared to releases like “Lore”. Plus, the demos show that they truly could eat up a blackened style if they wanted. Favorite track: Hexe.

ellis_boyd_redding When I first purchased this album I did it because I wanted to complete my collection of Elder vinyls, but didn't necessarily like the album as much as their other work. However, upon putting it on my turntable, I realized it is in fact a sick album in its own right with more of an emphasis on stoner/doom than psychedelic/progressive like the later Elder works. Still very much a fun listen. Favorite track: 1162 [Demo].
