Augusto Krüül Beautiful packaging, really strong promo/EP—more underground in mood, experimental without betraying the roots and tradition of black metal.
    Ignat thumbnail
Ignat A true avant-garde! Music that grabs you in the first seconds of listening. At the moment when you think you've understood what's going on, the material takes a sharp turn and surprises you with something else. The material, the performance, the mixing - everything is done in the same key and harmoniously blended together. Favorite track: Propheten der blauen Flamme.
    katja_s thumbnail
katja_s This album of JUNON is very atmospheric and psychedelic. A well-balanced potion made of Black Metal, Opera vocal parts, lyrics on latin and flavoured with emotional musical and vocal parts, leading to
avant-garde. I like the way how heavy quick parts are changed by slowly, tragic emotional parts, giving a feeling of release and catarsis. Right proportion between melodic and dissonance parts creates an unbelievable atmosphere. Favorite track: Unterm Glutmond.

porcelainheart- Genuinely the best DSBM to come out in modern times. And this is some of their best material to date. A must have for anyone who appreciates the genre, no matter how corny it might seem to some. Favorite track: Never Came Home.
    Cordial Despair thumbnail
Cordial Despair I am a little new to DSBM but I really like the swell of emotion as one moving piece from beginning to end. Listeners are subject to utter hopelessness and then finally left with hope by the last track. I love that music invokes such precious regard. Favorite track: Rest.

Jana "The more perfect someone is, the more pleasure and pain they feel." (Dante Alighieri) I pay tribute to Solemn who gave the world this wonderful music. I also pay tribute to his brother Svend who has spared no effort to make this record possible. Favorite track: Del I - Helvete.
    Bleaque thumbnail
Bleaque A masterpiece from the now deceased Solemn. This DSBM release is unheralded and underappreciated. Cult only. Favorite track: Del I - Helvete.
    Eden Kupermintz thumbnail
Eden Kupermintz Absolutely gripping, ethereal, and moving second wave black metal with plenty of DBSM, folk, and more. Ambitious in the best way. Favorite track: Del I - Helvete.

david saw them for the first time at the Linz show in march 26 and got to hear it early there. i was blown away by their stage presence and warm but forward sound. i’m just now digging into the earlier projects but i also like the rawer sound of those and especially the collaboration with absolute key as it feels like a synthesis of this later work and the earlier stuff. looking forward to the digital release and whatever is to come after! :)

sashavonkarl74 A Scottish band I knew nothing about, and shame on me, totally, for missing that Live Burial's guitarist Richard Codling was the link, and I listened to Live Burial recently... LOL at @Urso 's comment :) I wasn't ready, but damn, this is one EOY list wrecker for sure!! Favorite track: Orbus Non Sufficit.
