    Bobrick So good,
Drenched in atmosphere with some amazing chord choices.
If this was a videogame soundtrack for an obscure dungeon crawler, it would be topping lists left and right.
    jäätikkö thumbnail
jäätikkö My introduction to Quest Master. Such an awesome experience. Favorite track: Sacred Grove of the Sapphire Cascades.
    Obsidian One thumbnail
Obsidian One Quest Master creates an atmosphere of nostalgia and longing, crafting feel-good video game music with elements of dungeon synth. 'Holy Glass Monolith' especially evokes a sense of wonder and adventure. This is one of the first albums I came across in the genre — tracks 1, 2, and 9 resonate with me most. But track 2 is bothering me: there's a video game I used to play on the NES that's so reminiscent of this sound, but I can't quite place it. (I'll update this review if it comes to me.)

Hipnagog Incredible atmosphere and truly magical experience. You can simply drown in this lost and gloomy world. Fantastic example of what dark ambient is all about. Favorite track: Celestial Event.

lamarrstein Amazing ambient album I doubt I will find another gem like this. Favorite track: Mountain Pass.
    𝕽𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖎𝖊 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕳𝖔𝖗𝖓𝖊𝖉 thumbnail
𝕽𝖔𝖓𝖓𝖎𝖊 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕳𝖔𝖗𝖓𝖊𝖉 To say that Nocmar is once again at the height of magnificence is an understatement. In sounds that only he knows how to produce, we are instantly immersed in millennial stories, under the infinite celestial vault, in the ocean of galactic forests. We are both here and there, both in the moment and in eternity, both in emptiness and in belonging to the whole. "Buried In Light" is a deeply inspiring set of dualities and once the opus is finished, we only want one thing : to dive back in ✨⚔️🪐

renaissance_ultraviolence These guys blast cold melodies in your face without giving you any respite. French black metal the way I like it. Favorite track: L'Effondrement.
    connebert thumbnail
connebert The first impression is of an impossibly 'thin' sound, but even if this does not appeal, it is worth persisting. Excellent icily cold black metal with appealing melodies. Can we forgive the pun of the bandname / album title on 'palefroi' (i.e. palfrey), underlined by the image of the horse on the cover and the track 'Fier destrier')? I can, but then again I am a sucker for Gallic paronomasia, especially if medievally tinged...

    Ghuughra thumbnail
Ghuughra Duck your head when you're passing through the intersection of Retro Prog and Tech Thrash, lest you get clapped by the Hammers of Misfortune. Great stuff, and spooky. The more I'm listening the more I find myself fixating on the weird phased vocals and the scrabbly picking patterns in the guitars. Really interesting. Favorite track: Orbweaver.
    Dan E thumbnail
Dan E 70s prog TECHIFIED. Love the heady brew of 20th century sci-fi/speculative themes mixed in. AND THE SPEEEED Favorite track: The Raven's Bell.

Cadavre_Sombre (Midgard_OBM) Excellent cover art and amazing album, so to speak I like as well the Black Metal albums as the ones of Dungeon Synth from Elffor, Condemned to Wander is purely atmospheric and the work on the synths is impressive with great instrumental parts.
    Anders Kvistr thumbnail
Anders Kvistr Epic atmospheric black metal album, varied in terms of soundscapes, with deep, well mixed sound, full of memorable melodies and haunting riffs. Another masterpiece from Elffor. Favorite track: Old Icy Tomb.
