Joseph Parker With Zao I just buy it, no previews needed. I may check a track out but I think I wanna feel like a kid and wait for the cd to jam it on my portable player and headphones. This was such a sick surprise.
     ஓநாய் மற்றும் நாய் மற்றும் thumbnail
ஓநாய் மற்றும் நாய் மற்றும் The band aged like fine wine. Ive been along for the ride since 1998.

Dan's voice swallows all of you whole. Favorite track: Indoctrination.
    Lars Gotrich thumbnail
Lars Gotrich Well, that logo takes me back to the feral riffs and stark vulnerability that reshaped the metal/hardcore scene just before the turn of the millenium. Zao pays loving and loud tribute to its early rust belt influences with Creation is Crucifixion, Puritan, Passover and Abnegation covers. newsletter.vikingschoice.org/archive/new-music-friday-rust-belt-metal-euphoric/ Favorite track: The Data Body.
    jessejames2004 thumbnail
jessejames2004 Zao was the second hardcore band I ever saw. when one of your favorite bands covers a band from Erie PA it's a no brainer to listen to. I can remember hearing stories about Abnegation when I first started going to shows in Erie pa.

progdolphin Always straddling the line between a blackened snarl, a deathly pummel, and a hardcore shuffle, Immortal Bird’s patchwork attack hits as equal parts curious and aloof with Sin Querencia landing no differently. It’s not a labyrinthian instrumental construction that swerves the Bird about a progressive nature, but rather a keen sense of song structure and how to break it... with loads and loads of fat riffs! Favorite track: Ocean Endless.
    fyeahmetal thumbnail
fyeahmetal This was one of the best metal albums of 2024. It's tough, smart, dark, and catchy, with lots of details that reward repeated listens. Rae Amitay's vocals spread their wings past death growls with bits of clean and hardcore vocals, and I'm all for it. The drum work also shines, with punishing grooves that drop on your head out of nowhere. The whole record feels focused and intentional, and you'll want to keep returning to it. Favorite track: Ocean Endless.
Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass) thumbnail
Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass) Almost certainly their best release to date. An incredible record from start to finish with stellar performances and immaculate production. Favorite track: Ocean Endless.

Darknight The audio bludgeoning of a personalised sledgehammer is exactly what Domain have created here, stunning, crushing and absolutely brutal. Domain are the future of hardcore metal. Favorite track: Battle Cry.
    Cyril GPMCS Besson thumbnail
Violent ! Favorite track: Persevere Through Suffering.
