Caught Oscar in Birmingham a few years back when this album dropped and it was one of the best shows i’ve been too! Looking forward to catching him again for The Fork release!
Favorite track: The Spoon.

I'd let Oscar be the little spoon every time we cuddled.
Favorite track: Sweet Isolation.

The patience and tastefulness within these tunes reveal to the listener a young man with a deep reverence for Music, a great respect for the Studio, and the creative deliciousness of Freedom 🥄
Favorite track: Use It.
Strange Celestial Road
This album is a masterpiece, there’s no other way to put it. Compositionally, Patricia is in a league of her own. Nothing sounds like her music, and her music sounds like nothing else. Simply breathtaking.
Favorite track: Aquarius.
The Green Octopus
Shimmering melodies and scintillating synths populate your aural space and zip across like meteors in the night sky, invoking intense feelings of wanderlust and nostalgia for faraway places and times. These emotions boil up when I listen to Burnished Bronze. It's an underappreciated song that I was lucky to happen across, as it harnesses the joy of memories that I usually only privately explore. This album summons emotions that are at once sorrowful and euphoric, all the while you are dancing.
Favorite track: Burnished Bronze.

I was put off by the bigger arrangments, and I still have mixed feelings about the INCREDIBLE songwriting and lyrics of "What We Had" drowning in strings... but there's no denying their craft. These two are masterful, and if you already love them, you'll find new favs on this one.... they continue to prove that "old-time" songwriting can be applied to modern problems/issues just as beautifully and poignantly.
Favorite track: Lawman.

Just when you think they can't top previous masterworks this comes along. Hard to pick one because they are all so exquisite.
Favorite track: Howdy Howdy.

The most appropriate title for an album desperately needed at times like these, a treasure for sure........

Amina Cludine Myers is a genuine treasure. Listening to her music cleanses the spirit, carrying forward the power of ancient voices. Much like that of Marylou Williams' music, Amina's music is sanctifying. We all need this music in the world of today. Thank you, Amina for laying your blessings upon us all.
