    by Naima Bock

    sig thumbnail
sig In a faraway oasis basking in the dusty afternoon, under the garden trellis at the archeological dig; the evening birds fluff their feathers, the crowd sip from tall glasses, the band don sandy-colored suits and look into the future. Naima whispers incantations of good fortune. We are happily under the spell. The saxophonist proposes a toast. The chorus of birds begin the sleep of night and we follow. Favorite track: Instrumental.

    kleigher thumbnail
kleigher Every song is raw, intense, and full of emotion that hits me hard. The music is chaotic yet precise, urgent yet cathartic, and every listen leaves me both drained and alive. Gris Klein grabs me, shakes me, and refuses to let go it’s brutal, beautiful, and unforgettable. Favorite track: Confettis.

I'm going to the show in Hackney in February, so I hope that a) there's new material, and b) that you bring some white T-shirts because I can't wear black

    J. Wright Reviews I've heard Envy before but haven't taken the time to start diving into their material. That ends with this EP. Their mix of post-hardcore, post-rock and Tetsu's signature vocal style is truly one-of-a-kind. I like the description that this EP is about the small hope when you enter a dark time because the music feels that way: the post-rock adds beauty, the post-hardcore adds chaotic darkness, the spoken word vocals feel like frantic thoughts of an inner monologue. Short but absolutely worth it! Favorite track: Zanshin.

banana.gravy.on.pizza I have had this album on constant repeat whilst completing my dissertation AND research project back in 2023. It kept me grounded and at the same time inspired to keep going.

It is so hard to choose a favourite track because I genuinely love them all (my album buddyyyy) but I guess the first song that caught my attention was "2 AM" BUT, it is really ALL of them!!! Favorite track: 2am.
