Dumb mmmn there aren't many fireflies left around here - I sure enjoy seeing one.. when I can
    joanofarch thumbnail
joanofarch They simply know how to write sings that combine amazing, heavy riffs with harmonies full of tension and atmospheric elements. And they craft buildups that get your heartrate up like nothing else.
Some of the songs feel inspired by bands like Haken with complex rhythmicality. I love everything about that album. Favorite track: Sight Unseen.
    Holger Rudolph thumbnail
Holger Rudolph Awesome album. I wasn't sure, if Elder would return to the incredible song writing of the past AND keep getting more progressive. Well, they did. Favorite track: Strata.

aðreka The whole thing is unparalleled. I don’t think they know how much people like them and connect with this music. 350 vinyl copies was not enough! AMAZING sounding show. Very very good.
    Sorgsen Skuggan thumbnail
Sorgsen Skuggan I couldn't expect a better way to celebrate what we witnessed in Berlin that night than this edition. Reliving the vibrations, sensations and joy. TKDE has been one of my favourite and most precious artistic works since I discovered it in the early 2010s, but couldn't be in any gig prior to the 2013 hiatus. That night was magical, and this is a memento of such unforgettable time. Also, nicest people ever to meet in person. Favorite track: G : Vegas | Lobby/München.

    AcrylicHell thumbnail
AcrylicHell This album has been a mainstay in my rotation since it came out over ten years ago. Sounds old and classic but new. I love the other Dawnbringer albums, I love High Spirits, and I love the solo material - but this, for me, is Chris Blacks finest work (which is saying a lot). The pacing and flow of each song is fantastic, the riffs are memorable, and the narrative of the story is captivating. Listen to “III” and try to keep from banging your goddamn head. Capital H Capital M: Heavy Metal. Favorite track: III.

moiCflo Choonreview.com said it best: “This is pure experimentalism, ELM, IDM, Braindance... call it what you will. It is style-redefining music without effort and without being alienating, intelligent without being boring, and full of personality without ever trying too hard.”
    felixgarcia aka Die Trying thumbnail
felixgarcia aka Die Trying Just like the cover itself, this is wild stuff. A surrealistic and cartoonish playground where everything is posible and every machine is squeezed till it oozes something unique. Frantic, fun and fearless exploration of the sonic unknown. Favorite track: Voodoo synths (mix 1).
    geogans thumbnail
geogans Music like this deserves comments - and lots of them! The true electronica pixelated with moving vistas and evolving plasmas, there is plenty for both the chill zone, the driving zone and the dancefloor. Loved playing Arp as the sun rose (not long after Get Me Another Drink!). Favorite track: Arp test.

H.L. We spent this year's summer holiday in Iceland and so I collected some indie, rock, pop and soft metal albums for the three week round trip. TORRES contributed several tracks to our main playlist as some of the not too polished indie rock tracks are absolutely touching and thrilling, "Don't go puttin wishes in my Head", "Kiss the Corners" and most of all the title track "Thirstier" are catchy hits full of soul! Favorite track: Thirstier.
    discoinfernal thumbnail
discoinfernal I don't know if she's ever named him as an influence, but Torres is one of the few artists working today who's really mastered the Jeff Buckley sound: a mix of grunge, soul and ethereal dream pop. And while none of her albums have impacted me quite as hard as Sprinter, this one comes very close. It's nice to hear her writing from a more joyful place, and I love the MASSIVE approach to songwriting she took here. Plus, it's always nice when being happy and fulfilled actually produces good art. Favorite track: Don't Go Puttin Wishes in My Head.

Catapulted into my life with this release and I just fucking love it....

The emotions they can evoke here with relatively 'simple' precise plucks of the guitar.

You FEEL this! Favorite track: Autofagia.

    Awad thumbnail
Awad 14 of these 16 songs need to be played live on this next tour is all I'm saying!! There's some real magic in these songs - it's an exceptional record - brilliant, dynamic, timeless Favorite track: We Wrote Our Names in the Dust.
    Kolina Lind thumbnail
Kolina Lind Paradises is very dreamy & ethereal with a rich smoky synth atmosphere, frequently slower bpm with the addition of gorgeous minor chords throughout for an unforgettable melancholy effect. If you love Gravity the Seducer or Time’s Arrow this is reminiscent of those lush dream soundscapes. Ladytron never disappoints-Pure synth joy! Favorite track: A Death in London.
    ultor3 thumbnail
ultor3 Paradises is crazy beautiful, even for Ladytron. It could be their best album to date. Yes, the songs are danceable as advertised, but that does not stop them from being complex pieces of finest art. And it flows and is very coherent in the way that Gravity the Seducer does, but it's somehow even dreamier than it, reminding me of Vangelis's Spiral or Juno Reactor's Contact, and of the science fiction movies from when humanity used to dream about the future rather than dread it. Favorite track: Solid Light.
    Ross Wilson thumbnail
Ross Wilson Cannot get enough of 'I Believe In You', it's hypnotic. Love this, can't wait for the full album release. Favorite track: I Believe In You.
