pinkytheent Like the dawn breaking over the land, a tiny bit then all at once, I was not sure about this record at first, and then was nearly in tears by the end. A flood of emotion like the light of day haloing the dark mountains, then piercing night in blazing rays and drowning all in sun. Every song seemed to surpass the previous. A deep well of feeling, meaning, spirituality, yearning, of connecting to the sandy lands of Elsewhere. I will treasure this album as art sculpted from the human soul. Favorite track: Flamme Jumelle.

Urso X Softer, dreamier, warmer, and a bit more ephemeral than Alcest’s last two albums (and harkening back in some ways to their earlier work) though no less accomplished. Sun-kissed and utterly gorgeous! Favorite track: L'Envol.

Arkane_Artz This album took me a few listens to truly sink into. I have come to love the introspective nature of the record. A warrior spirit is showcased to be multifaceted; strong and sensitive. There is also emphasis on the spirituality that comes with navigating the 'darker; parts of life, such as burnout, isolation, and existential contemplation. Favorite track: Protection.

black_gaze Pure magic. I can't stop smiling while listening. A genius synthesis filled with clarity and warmth. Listen and you'll understand.

Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) Spiritual Instinct est pour Alcest un retour aux sources — pas dans le sens d'une proximité avec Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde : je parle d'une source ancestrale. Dans cet album, le duo français fait parler sa part animale avec un black metal plus assumé. Neige crache ses tripes ("Jardins De Minuit" nous tient en respect) et s'abandonne à la frénésie ("Protection") ; Winterhalter percute par son jeu à la batterie et nous désarme ("L'Île Des Morts"). Spiritual Instinct fait craindre le black metal ! Favorite track: Protection.

The Laughing Stock I know some people didn't like this album because it's a little softer than their blackgaze sound but this is just absolutely gorgeous. these people don't know what they're missing. My shelter is nature. Fuck I love this album so much Favorite track: Away.

Shine Upon Thee Initially I did not like this album. Despite the fact that Alcest became my favourite band, I would always skip this one. Due to changes in my life, I've started listening to more upbeat music, and gave this another chance. I love it, now! Strongest album closer I've heard in a long, long time, too. The Laughing Stock My favorite Alcest album. The beauty, the emotion, and just how good the musicianship is. The atmosphere and vocals are just so ethereal and otherworldly. I love every alcest album but this one is just a pure masterpiece in all of music and I'll never change my mind on that. Favorite track: Autre Temps.
