  1. 16bit Blessings
    by Mega Drive
    supported by
    Eralp thumbnail
Eralp Another killer EP from Mega Drive reminiscent of his earlier work, now mixed up with newer stylings. Favorite track: Absolute Control.

    were-jaguar Jeez Louis Papa Cheese!!!!
    palehorse666 thumbnail
palehorse666 deadly cybernetic nostalgia as only Mega Drive can deliver unto the fearful masses. Favorite track: Absolute Control.
    jealousjamz thumbnail
jealousjamz Magnificent... a small throwback to the old, but with the enhanced tech of the new (ie Disc 1, Heat, and Theme Cartridge) When I say old, I moreso mean the Futurescape and VHS sounds. Honestly, I would kill for Futurescape remaster, i believe it's the only album that would want it, and with the enhancements of MD's it could prove a good retelling.
Regardless, these tracks flow probably the best in MD's line up. Favorite track: Infinite Ammo.

  2. Risk of Rain 2: Alloyed Collective
    by Stavros Markonis
    supported by
    MadiTheImmortal thumbnail
MadiTheImmortal Chris's sound is classic. But Starvros is a perfect and necessary evolution of the game's sound. He brings so much dimension and atmosphere to his more downtempo tracks and has way more range than I was expecting. I Should Build The Man A Statue was a fantastic debut and this has further cemented him as my favorite composer to work on the game. Favorite track: Mine Your Drone Business!.
    ashblossom thumbnail
ashblossom Not nearly as strong as Chris' stuff, but everyone needs a moment to adjust to change. I think it really picks up steam in the later half, but it does manage to capture the game's general feel. I'm never getting over the fact it isn't Chris, but Stavros does his own thing rather than poorly imitate and the new direction is great, especially in the context of this new DLC. I must say more of these melodies get into my brain than I want to admit. Favorite track: Heav'n Flies Before the Machine Soul (Bonus Track).
    k3w3l thumbnail
k3w3l Chris' handpicked successor absolutely nailed the sound and feel of the soundtrack for the new DLC. Stavros has a style all his own with no reliance on the wacky time signatures, but it feels simultaneously different yet familiar with perfect motif callbacks and energy levels.

Foivos is to Stavros what George was to Chris, another brilliant guitar soloist. But my highlight has to be Chris' synth solos having an incredibly welcome presence on some songs. Favorite track: Mistery (ft. Chris Christodoulou).

  3. Sometimes He Comes Back
    by Daniel Deluxe
    supported by
    C. Andon Guenther thumbnail
    C. Andon Guenther Been listening to the track Levitation on repeat for the last six hours. Will get to the rest of the tracks after this earworm leaves my brain in peace. Oh… and yeah… buy this album. DD is top of the game here. Favorite track: Levitation.
    yaghrujhu thumbnail
yaghrujhu For two years the cyberpunk scene was spared.
But Daniel is back, setting the bar high, with heft, precision and impact.
His inablity to overcrowd a track makes every piece hit harder than the last.
This album scratches every itch a fan of this genre could have developed in Daniels absence,
no matter if youre looking to club out or be drenched in an atmospheric soundscape.
Welcome back Deluxe! Favorite track: Kill Chain.
    palehorse666 thumbnail
palehorse666 another huge name in the genre of darksynth returns after a lengthy absence to glass the peaceful, verdant plains into a scorched hellscape. no one is safe, for the seal has been broken again. Favorite track: Kill Chain.

Michael Jennings Greta Link FTW. So haunting. Favorite track: Lady Moon (ft. Greta Link).
    Jen Tyle thumbnail
Jen Tyle Banger album. I also got this on vinyl from MOTV shop, the pressing is amazing! Favorite track: Mors Ultima Ratio.
    doive thumbnail
doive I'm so thrilled by this album, it has such a darkened vibe overall, it always was in the air with Perturbator but this time it's slightly more acute and I really can't say I disapprove of it in any way whatsoever. Excellent darkwave right here, you know what to do.. Favorite track: Age of Aquarius (ft. Alcest).

  5. Side Quest
    by Magic Sword
    supported by
    Sprenzee thumbnail
Sprenzee Every song packs a punch, this album has been on my regular rotation lately. It has a great uplifting sparkly opener with Side Quest, and closes out with more hardcore tracks like Reckoning and Dead Serious. I saw Magic Sword live not too long ago and they played a bunch of these songs and it's stellar to hear these songs live. Listen loud and smite the darkness. Favorite track: Reckoning.
    palehorse666 thumbnail
palehorse666 high fantasy synthwave at its finest, and it's a B-Side album for shit's sake. Favorite track: Dead Serious.
