weeblewobble18 One of my favorite albums of the past year. Every song just feels so thoughtfully made, with songcraft behind it that feels effortless. I really love the vibe. Having been a fan of his early work, it's a pleasure listening to the sound of a mature artist. The cover of I'm in Love with a German Film Star was such a pleasant surprise. Favorite track: panic attack.

ABear GREAT ALBUM! Bought it immediately on here after seeing them live; got into them opening for Peaches in SF...
    Lute FP thumbnail
Lute FP This album is fantastic. Driving rhythms, tasteful synths, and haunting vocals with attitude.

Another reviewer called this modern trip-hop, but it ain’t that. This is definitely more in the vein of darkwave, electronic, and/or post-punk. Maybe even veering into industrial, for that matter. It reminds me of pre-breakup Munuit Machine and contemporary Donzii, two of the best synth-driven bands I have ever come across.

This album is amazing, if the flavor is up your alley.

Gio Makyo A treasured EP, wonderful to hear it again after so long. Hoping it finds a new generation of fans! Great songs that blossom after a few listens, and a crisp sound on the edge of post-punk and psych pop.

zobarx 2/13 edit: confirmed. Buy the CD, it's still such a good album, and the flac files sound great, too, but I'm crestfallen that we'd get such a poor pressing /mixed vinyl that any distortion enhanced just sounds like it's clipping. I'm running a Luxman turntable with an SME tonearm paired with a Denon DL-103r cartridge out to a Dynavector phono preamp, so I can't avoid the quality of the pressing. It sounds like they just dumped the CD mix onto vinyl - clipping be damned.

jnagy63 This really doesn't sound good. "Drug Girls" is a particular offender on the vinyl. Distorted as hell. Favorite track: Tripping Wires (2025 Remaster).
