Ippocalyptica I have the full version here on 29 April, and it is clear that Stormkeep has taken their first real creative risks on Nocturnes. This sounds a lot different than their previous works, to the point where you might be forgiven if you thought there had been a total lineup change (there was not). Differences include more breathing room, that every song is more dynamic, and that the album is, overall, more melodic but also more subdued. fyeahmetal Talk about coming out of the gate on top! This near-perfect debut may go down as a future classic - it's that good. The band does death and doom metal equally well, in an organic blend, as opposed to many bands of this ilk who really are just death metal at heart with some slow parts. Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) No Ruidar da Mata que Mirra était déjà un album aussi rafraîchissant qu'exceptionnel ; Caio Lemos remet le couvert en sortant la même année ce second album, Nascido Sob o Signo Incivilizatório qui dépasse nos attentes. Si l'album est un petit peu plus court, les morceaux sont plus longs (l'immense "Chama, Pólvora e Esperança"...) permettant au génie brésilien d'atteindre des dimensions épiques. Kaatayra est une des meilleures choses qui soient arrivées au black metal atmosphérique, et de loin ! Favorite track: Chama, Pólvora e Esperança.more...
carnivaloftrees I think this is where Kaatayra achieved the best "sound". It uses different genres but the melodies and arrangement of them make sure to keep the overall sound in the same range of atmosphere while making sure to dip in darker territories in some sections to create contrasts that don't seem as present in other albums. The metal sections are outstanding and they are accented by the ambience and beautiful artwork to push the atmosphere further and more clearly. Amazing album. Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) No Ruidar da Mata que Mirra, c'est la naissance de Kaatayra, one-man band de black metal atmosphérique porté par une seule et même personne, un certain Caio Lemos.
"Un groupe de plus de black atmo" me direz-vous, surtout en écoutant la première piste. En réalité, le monde singulier de Kaatayra se déploie vraiment à partir de "Das Serras, Sapiência e Sumidade" avec le chant clair et les percussions traditionnelles. A partir de là, il vous sera impossible de décrocher de cette musique primordiale. Favorite track: Contra o Delírio Urbano, um Manipanso.
