    Dahlia-Pompon thumbnail
Dahlia-Pompon It's dark, soul crushing, almost hypnotic.
I feel like some melodies of this album could induce a transe.

    by Denial of Life

    deathmtn thumbnail
deathmtn They got my attention with the Hell Awaits intro, but after getting into it, it's that thrash groove that you used to hear on late night WVVX in the early '90s that has hooked me. Both the main vocal style and the GANG! VOCALS! were things I didn't realize that I missed. Favorite track: Circle The Drain.
    Lisa Bella Donna thumbnail
Lisa Bella Donna I absolutely LOVE this band!! This record slaps and slays front to back. Perfect songs, perfect mix. Hope these lovelies stick around for the ages!!
DENIAL OF LIFE!!! LET’s GO!!!! 🖤 Favorite track: Love Sting.
    Richard Weems thumbnail
Richard Weems You got some of the best elements of bands like Sacrilege here: hard-driving, solid metal and hardcore. You need their FULL available discography. Favorite track: Circle The Drain.

Bart D-best punk/hardcore with a bit of crust slathered on top. One of the better punk/hc albums I've heard this year. Should be a banger live. Favorite track: Mercy Dog.

jimmytheworm The 2021 self-titled LP is my favorite album of the '20s thus far. This bad-ass motherfucker is trying to take it down and so far, it is fucking SUCCEEDING how is that even possible

    GeN2Mo thumbnail
GeN2Mo Maybe I'm exaggerating, yet this is the first album for me in ages that exudes this "Left To Our Own Devices"-feel. This proficiency at replicating late 80s Pop in combination with sincerity and urgency that results in songs that aren't just excelent retrowave but also probably some of the best synthpop you can listen to, full stop.
    c5 thumbnail
c5 I'd been looking forward to this album and it's exceeded my expectations. Favorite track: Perpetual Care.
    Discordia thumbnail
Discordia Masterful throwback to 1983. Talk Talk meets Toni Basil in a dark alley. Favorite track: One Star One Body.

sashavonkarl74 A Scottish band I knew nothing about, and shame on me, totally, for missing that Live Burial's guitarist Richard Codling was the link, and I listened to Live Burial recently... LOL at @Urso 's comment :) I wasn't ready, but damn, this is one EOY list wrecker for sure!! Favorite track: Orbus Non Sufficit.

Obstacle of Affliction Reminense of my adolescence and forced supplication.
Out of rebellion, the path of sin was chosen.

    Lute FP thumbnail
Lute FP This is fantastic. Super fuzzed doom in the vein of Uncle Acid and Mephistofelese, but with the fevered psychedelia dialed back a notch and the wicked guitar cranked up to 11.

I largely stopped buying music in this style due to the overwhelming quantity of output in the last handful of years, with little of it bringing anything new to the table. And while this doesn’t feel new, they do the style better than most.

It bounces and it’s wicked. You’ll love it if you are into the genre.
    Solitude and Sin thumbnail
Solitude and Sin This is the good stuff... Hot as Hell! I've had it on a lot, can't get enough - from the first couple of seconds I just knew it was going to hit hard. This'll take you all the way and then some. So much goodness to soak up, raise your goblets and drink 🤘😈🤘
    FDJ (Desert Psychlist) thumbnail
FDJ (Desert Psychlist) Brilliantly executed proto-doomic grooviness, the dark side never sounded so inviting Favorite track: Wickedness.
    egg-magoo thumbnail
egg-magoo Superb, fuzzed up, garage-tinged, occult fuelled, psyche stoner riffage, Following on from a great EP and a couple of singles this is the debut long player. They sound like the house band at a summoning ritual scene in some 70s Satanic cult-exploitation horror flick and I love it so much it's scary!
