    shores412_0709 thumbnail
shores412_0709 Mike Watt has been informing my bass playing since before I was a bassist. Couple that with the fact that I was raised by a father who loved artists like Captain Beefheart and Zappa, and we have a perfect recipe. No better reason to release a 7 inch record in this day and age! Excellent! Favorite track: My Head Is My Only House Unless It Rains.

Alphonso Acosta worth it ($15) and I like it mucho Favorite track: Kotton Krown.
    Lee Ricciuti thumbnail
Lee Ricciuti One of the many reasons to love this record is getting to hear Thurston's hot take on biker gangs. Favorite track: Inhuman.
    emily-vivant thumbnail
emily-vivant The very last song I heard Sonic Youth play live was this one, under the Gateway Arch in 2009. The version here is just as mind-blowing, and it's only the *second* song in the set. Favorite track: Death Valley ’69.

    Steve Abercrombie thumbnail
Steve Abercrombie A genre transcending event that speaks to me specifically with songs from Twin Peaks and Mike Watt's Contemplating the Engine Room. Favorite track: Liberty Calls!.
    Max Dread thumbnail
Max Dread I know rock is supposed to be a young person's game, but think about what happens, over a period of decades, if you keep at it. You can keep getting better at your instrument, learn a broader range of musical forms, and become a more generous collaborator. Take away the pressure to produce hits, to crank out product, and great music can result. This album is evidence. The Pink Room wins as fave because of the bass vamp, holding all the tension together, like Circle in the Round. Favorite track: The Pink Room.

morksutto This was my favorite concert of the tour, was an amazing night with my friends! The poster is also one of my favorites!! Favorite track: Gilgamesh (Live in Philadelphia '24).
    flaplette thumbnail
flaplette Was privileged enough to be at this show. Absolutely lifechanging performance, and it was my first time seeing Gizz live. Never gonna forget how they just dove right into MBS and it blew me away. The half-hour rendition of The River was indescribably wonderful, and getting to see the Mind Fuzz suite was awesome. And then finishing with the live debut of Gilgamesh, into a rendition of Set that blows away the album version.. I'd barely heard of this band a year ago and I'm hooked. <3 Favorite track: The River (Live in Philadelphia '24).
