Peak minimalism: a single note and a clock being a single note and a clock. Yet, they both become much more. The note becomes ambience, melody, and focal point. Meanwhile, the ticking of the clock overcomes serving as a mere metronome, becoming basically the pulse of the piece – and equally as integral. As it falls away during the final act, its absence leaves a perceptible hole in the song, quickly filled with smooth droning. High craftsmanship, creating such a soundscape without artificiality.
