Jonathan Spratling We learned in physics that one ton of air per square meter presses down on the human body. This album seems dedicated to confirming that. Heavy as ambient drone can be. Favorite track: Wilderness Of Mirrors.

    Viktor Pilkington thumbnail
Viktor Pilkington First stepping into Mohammad Reza Mortazavis expertly recorded performances may fool you to believe that post processing has been done to distort the sound. Could a lone drum possibly sound like this? After watching a video performance, the perceived magic is replaced by astonishment of Mortazavi's skillfull performance. There is no equal in recorded solo percussion. The rhythms and timings overlap to extreme complecity. Try to keep up! This is a must buy for anyone who dares.
    Jascha Narveson thumbnail
Jascha Narveson Crisp, even, snappy percussion on a single drum, but recorded with such a variety of mics that it sounds polyphonic: close-mic rim shots and bass booms mix with reverb of the gorgeous space this was recorded in to produce a recorded as multi-layered as some electronic music. Favorite track: Sudden Inspiration.
    Carlos Manuel Jager Juárez thumbnail
Carlos Manuel Jager Juárez I was lucky enough to see him live in Mexico City... an amazing experience.
