lisa glenn One of my favorite albums of all time. Laurie Spiegel’s music transcends time and space. My favorite track is The Expanding Universe. Great for listening to while working, reading or just needing to chill out.

David J Loftus wow. The Kepler track from this album opens the 1977 Voyager disc, currently navigating interstellar space beyond our solar system at ten miles per second.

lucy60 I am very interested in "tonal" music, not microtones but real tonal music. I'm hoping this album scratches an aural itch.

torzano I usually stay away from standards albums as they have been done to death. This is different. I haven’t heard standards this fresh in a long time. They blur the lines of melody/chord progressions/tempo/bar lines to create something completely new. The telepathy between each other and the looseness in which they play reminds me of the second great Miles Davis quintet. This album is like a revelation. Not to be missed.
    Giles thumbnail
Giles A deep and thoughtful selection of truly great tunes, played in far out and astonishing ways, that ultimately proves the immortality of the small group jazz concept. Truly every cut is killer and gorgeous, but even after this entire epic collection I could listen to twenty more takes of everything. outstanding!!
    e123 thumbnail
e123 i was at 2 of these shows and they were a highlight of the year for me, so glad to see this music released -- the interplay is incredible and the interpretations are so fresh. the recording quality is excellent as well. Favorite track: Solar.
    Dan Levy thumbnail
Dan Levy An instant all-timer, this is a generous 3 1/2 hours of four musicians taking a Jazz Gallery audience to the furthest reaches of the standards repertoire. Tyshawn and company show their respect to the compositions through thorough investigation. Totally entertaining and guaranteed to rewire your consciousness.
    Favorite track: Ashes.

Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) I've bought this album mainly because of the Samuel Barber track, which is great, as usual. John Corigliano wasn't known to me before, and his music is, er... quite experimental, I'd say - it's interesting at least, that much can I say after a first sketch. I'll need some more rounds to get into it. Favorite track: Third Essay For Orchestra - Opus 47 - (Samuel Barber).
