bookofblues It's always wonderful when Robyn Hitchcock puts out something new. I discovered his magic in a used record store when l was 14 and it's changed my life for the next 37 or so years. Dreamy, surreal, perfect! 💙 💙

    by Robyn Hitchcock

    Christian Hartman thumbnail
Christian Hartman RH has been a fave since 1982 when I first heard The Soft Boys while living in Seattle. This collection of outtakes as well as A & B sides of obscure singles, is a wide ranging survey of early Hitchcock psychedelia. Favorite track: Messages of Dark.
    M Shane Borders thumbnail
M Shane Borders Maaaaan... I bought this album on cassette in 1986. Obviously an number of the tracks that are on this modern version weren't on that original release, and nostalgia addiction dictates that I yearn for what's missing from the sequence (Grooving on an Inner Plane) but what a great collection of tunes, some of which SOUND better than I recollect-- Skull for instance... and one of the all-time great album cover portraits! Viva la Radish! Favorite track: A Skull, A Suitcase, And A Long Red Bottle of Wine.
    gjgoddard thumbnail
gjgoddard So many great songs on here; it’s such a classic. It’s hard to pick out just one favorite. All I wanna do, My favorite buildings, Falling Leaves, Trash, Point it at Gran, the Higsons. Kevin! Supper’s Ready! Favorite track: Listening to the Higsons.

    JW Hines II thumbnail
JW Hines II Great album. The sounds, vibe, lyrics, and creativity behind this record are phenomenal. I’ve been listening since 1988. There’s not a stale moment on Globe of Frogs and it’s still fresh to me. Favorite track: Flesh Number One (Beatle Dennis).
    Tristan Louth-Robins thumbnail
Tristan Louth-Robins Stars of Joy, this remaster sounds absolutely radiant! Essential. Can't wait to burn the wav files to a CD-R. A salve for dark times. Chinese Bones for ever and ever. Favorite track: Chinese Bones.
    dub orange thumbnail
dub orange globe of frogs is one of my alltime favourites. i was sceptical, because i am used to the original album, which i listened so many times and get used to it...but they did a marvelous job of rehydrating the music with respect. i can't say now, which version i like more, the old is like a old friend, the new like a fresh love. get this one, if you don't know it. Favorite track: Chinese Bones.

DEZIMADE There is something about Dan! I saw him open for Father Misty. Everyone was was so focused on Dan. . They love him! Then Father came on as the headliner and everyone stayed in front tight. They were there for Dan AND Father !!!
I learned something about a movement. They have no ego. Well maybe Misty a lil lol

    Tom Colquhoun thumbnail
Tom Colquhoun KM continuing to prove that life in a post-Masana Temples world is just that bit better. Island challenges and even expands on it's predecessors's impressive range. Dancing Blue might be the most infectious, deelightful thing ever. Cardboard Pile transitions from a brash and glittery krautbanger to a mysterious black forest hunting call with the utmost self-confidence.
As a whole, the album just drips life and joy. I hate that they're leaving, but look what they left us with. Favorite track: Dancing Blue.
    John Chaos Alexander thumbnail
John Chaos Alexander This music turned me into the ginger version of Shaft! Rocking funk-tastic with alot of eastern sounds to it! a energizing yet mellow vibe to them! Favorite track: Dancing Blue.
