    dd63 thumbnail
dd63 This album does a great job of capturing the joy and the energy of a live Hurray for the Riff Raff performance without the disjointed flavor of a best of album. There is a ton of energy and emotion in this album. Pa'lante was a great way to end the performance.

    frequency13 thumbnail
frequency13 Gorgeous vocals over luscious folkish indie pop and amazing lyrics make for what is sure to be one of my favorite releases of the year Favorite track: 5 AM.
    H.L. thumbnail
H.L. Well, sometimes it is not the right time for metal and then I need some new honest, lively, catchy and emotional rock-pop-indie-singer-songwriter stuff which doesn't bore me after the second listen. In search of such rare pearls I came across Brooke. Her warm breathy voice spreads just the right level of melancholy to turn so many of the soft indie songs into soulful hits, catchy but with depth: "What if", "Be Around", "5 Am" or "Better by Now". Favorite track: Be Around.
    henk_uk thumbnail
henk_uk Great voice, lush instrumentation and solid songwriting! Favorite track: Social Anxieties.
    Haden thumbnail
Haden When I have the choice to spend the weekend at a party or with these melancholic sometimes sad songs. Then my choice is clear. Thank you Brooke! Favorite track: Better By Now.

Mohaski Sierra is lovely and magical. She often reminds me of Dolly Parton. Her voice is stellar and the arrangements are wonderful. Favorite track: Why Haven’t You Loved Me Yet.

baa055 I became aquainted with Sierra from a Saturday Mornings Session on CBS. Never heard of her. Loved her immediately. Favorite track: Dollar Bill Bar.

Larry another great record from Lake Street Dive. Favorite track: Seats At the Bar.
    Colin M. thumbnail
Colin M. Lake Street Dive have never disappointed before and they aren’t starting now. What a lovely LP. Favorite track: Party On the Roof.
    Neville Dalton thumbnail
Neville Dalton Just when you think Lake Street Dive can't improve, they come up with another album of quality and variety - only on a new level of greatness. Rachael steals the show with her effortless vocals, but, as always, this is a joint-effort: every aspect - musicianship, harmonies, lyrics and tunes - is superb. Good Together and Dance With Somebody are feelgood tracks that characterise this album. But the two ballads - Twenty-Five and Set Sail... - set new standards of song-writing and performance. Favorite track: Set Sail (Prometheus & Eros).

frozentanukii This album feels magical, in a way. It's warm, inviting, and colourful. This is an easy contender for the best country album of 2024. Favorite track: Hawkmoon.
    phmao thumbnail
phmao "Feeding grapefruits to the cows" (Snakeplant) and the "uh huh" in Hawkmoon. Favorite track: Buffalo.
    The Jealous Cactus thumbnail
The Jealous Cactus "Say goodbye to America
    I wanna see it dissolve
I can be your poster boy for the great American fall"
I've really liked their more rock sounding albums, but still nice to hear them go back to acoustic since it really lets the songwriting take focus. Favorite track: Colossus of Roads.

  5. Change Your Mind EP
    by Bryde
    featured track 00:00/00:00
But I Come Back Down But I Come Back Down
    supported by
    H.L. thumbnail
H.L. Maybe I like Bryde's singer/songwriter music so much as I don't like happy music. Her unique voice is vulnerable and strong the same time and she even turns songs which are not really catchy itself to honest and soulful melancholic experiences, often full of tension. "Change your Mind" (the catchy one), "But I come back down" (the melancholic piece), "Bottles" (the inconspicuous beauty) or "A way" (the touching final") are all worth to grab this EP. Looking forward to the next full album. Favorite track: Change Your Mind.
