immygoldfish Been so looking forward to this! Was a gorgeous accompaniment to the beautiful mayday sunrise we had today. Particularly taken with the idea of an "instagram sky" and a folkie field rave. Excellent! Favorite track: Free Party.

Carsten Pieper I recently saw (via the Arte mediathek) a Joni Mitchell tribute where Jesca contributed and was wondering whether new original material might be on the way - and here it is :-))
Ordered without hesitation! Favorite track: Caravan.

micahedmonds “Every sound that has happened or ever could, all at once all of the time. The bell rings, the pin drops. The whispering wood. Only transfer; never die. An ocean of voices you can’t hear, you can’t feel. Baby, one of them is mine. Invisible pulses are carrying me to the other end of the line.”

Thank you, Jesca. Thank you thank you thank you. Favorite track: Long Wave Home.

norm tandberg The sign of a great album is you can't pick the best song because they are all so good. Whitehorse has done that with this release. Love the variety and arrangements. Major talents on display! Favorite track: 2155.

    Nickie Harte Kelly thumbnail
Nickie Harte Kelly Led by the Mac Gloinn brothers, they bring lovely acoustic folk, blending their original lyrics with a traditional Irish folk sound (imagine smoky pubs and busking on street corners). The harmonies are simply gorgeous, and always at center. But the stories and their presentation are what is so captivating about this release. Instruments include what you might expect (guitars, fiddle, accordions), plus a few surprises along the way, like some synthesizer here and there. Favorite track: The Flood.
    brewersdaughtersupports thumbnail
brewersdaughtersupports Ye vagabonds songwriting has stepped up a gear on this album, the acoustic sounds, recorded in the round and well produced just hits the spot. This record has moved me to tears. Well done all involved. Rhiannon
    lilybenson thumbnail
lilybenson Everything I’ve ever loved about Ye Vagabonds is here. The brothers’ voices, their glorious understanding of folk and all it can do. And this album does something more: is a love letter from and to a place and time in the rear view mirror and looking all the more heartbreakingly beautiful there. It’s whole in the way all the albums are that really last. And it’s thrilling to hear that.
    Bruce Burkhartsmeier thumbnail
Bruce Burkhartsmeier Ye Vagabonds are amazingly talented musicians. I look forward to everything they do.

    kingofseoul thumbnail
kingofseoul I’m not exaggerating when I say this is one of the finest albums I’ve heard in years. According to Apple Music I’ve listened to it at least a hundred times — and it only gets better. The lyrics are deep and introspective, and the production is encompassing without ever overwhelming the songs. Helen Ballentine has made something that rewards deep, repeated listening. Also worth noting: the Bandcamp download quality is noticeably better than streaming. Such restrained beauty. Favorite track: Red Car.
    roymr thumbnail
roymr 32 minutes goes so fast, yet so slow. Layers peel back on repeated plays, sonically, thematically. It's a captivating cinematic journey of ethereal, evocative beauty and rich emotional depths.

Abstract, cryptic lyrics float through a dreamlike Lynchian atmosphere. The meta circularity of songs about songwriting meshes with media references and titular theme.

The finale "The Emptying" hits me like a sledgehammer. Is this the end, already?

I follow the circle and start from the beginning again. Favorite track: The Emptying.
    davidmcgough thumbnail
davidmcgough An Exceptional Artist I so love how very moving and beautiful heartfelt the music is. Favorite track: March.
