  1. The Inevitable Fork LP

    supported by
    Danny Snead thumbnail
Danny Snead There's so much to choose from as a favorite track on this album, but I have to say since I've listened to Bloodlines twenty times. In a row? Maybe! This album is well produced, saintly orchestrated, and so catchy. This is some amazing avant garde power pop metal while still remaining heavy. Give them money. Favorite track: Bloodlines.
    loveday robijn thumbnail
loveday robijn Babyland, Napalm Death, and Fred Schneider in a VitaMix. The best-case scenario for a DEVO/KMFDM supergroup. A band you ignore at mortal peril. Favorite track: Bloodlines.

    wurzelpeter thumbnail
wurzelpeter It's been a long time since I've heard an album so full of ideas, so varied and yet so homogeneous. Homogeneous doesn't mean that everything sounds the same, but that the styles (something like technical Dream Theater with a fusion foundation) fit together without this "patchwork" feeling of the typical style mixers. J M Ivanyi himself refers to this as amalgamation which is the most appropriate word here.
    Favorite track: Omen Faustum.
    nathanlewiskramer thumbnail
nathanlewiskramer Every song is the best song. Insane playing and artistic talent on display, and a truly classic instrumental guitar album, in my opinion James’ finest work to date.

    that good shit.
    David Fischer thumbnail
David Fischer The Hirsch Effekt are simply the best German band out there in any genre at the moment, change my mind. If there still was any need to prove that, take Eskapist. It is another tremendous album, an additional milestone in an a thoroughgoing impressive discography. Non-native speakers really should try to get a proper translation of the lyrics, as they add much more depth to the individual songs. Favorite track: LYSIOS.
    vacant planet thumbnail
vacant planet This is one of the types of albums that makes you constantly ask yourself "Why am I not listening to Eskapist right now?".
Nothing less than a masterpiece. Favorite track: NATANS.

    RoosterJack thumbnail
RoosterJack "Ethereal, 3-dimensional, abstract chess in parks accompanied by the float of saxophone and drums. Wierd grooves that rock you deep into the sun."

Sungazer's first full release is as impressive as it is sudden. It breaks out with blistering speeds of bass improvisation from Neely, and the drums also accompanying show the raw power the duo hold within seconds. The following tracks roll in a mood of self-expression and presents the mind of jazz in a new light, of which many contemporaries cannot. Favorite track: Dream of Mahjong.
