StrangeFlow So cool & modern psychedelic music! If you like Stereolab, Krautrock (Neu,Can),King Gizzard, Tame Impala or great music related with that musical bubble, you might wanna listen to this colorful, creative and well crafted prismatic butterfly made of sonic waves :) Great Summer soundtrack! Favorite track: A Photograph Replaced My Mind.

rgaither Very creative compositions contained here, including expansive tonal explorations and soundstage, eclectic timbres, and prismatic texturing. Chicagoan Tomeka Reid is an excellent composer and cellist. She swings, but in delicate balance with formal contours of classical stylings and control. Speaking of style, Ms. Reid's is unique among free jazz musicians. Heady and beautiful and playful, this is a strong, signature outing.
    florenday thumbnail
florenday el mejor disco de jazz del año!
    monksbird thumbnail
monksbird My vote for album of the year. Playful compositions, adventurous, telepathic playing by master musicians (magicians) at the top of their game. Very well recorded. Runs the full spectrum between dense and free to hard swinging. It’s probably a cliche to say it by now, but Mary Halvorson on any recording=instant buy. Highest recommendation!

Jonathan Pryor A vibraphone performance that doesn't annoy me. I didn't think it was possible but the balance and chemistry between these three is special. Overall, and excellent offering! And YES! You CAN set and listen to this album multiple times in a row! Favorite track: Resolve.
    Barry Silver thumbnail
Barry Silver Tomas Fujiwara masterfully composes a perfect platform to appreciate the range of delicacy, power, and swing of Reid and Brennan. A highlight recording for all three.
    LawrenceSelden thumbnail
LawrenceSelden I love this album because of the interplay between the 3 musicians and because I can play the album on repeat for hours and it sounds like a brand-new album every ~36 min. Also, my partner's ears pricked up right away when I played this one and and she's not a jazz fan per se.

    Otis Nugatory thumbnail
Otis Nugatory "The alpha and omega of great ideas in rock music," as someone put it in the '90's. Weird music for weird people, strongly recommended for the adventurous. Odd yet compelling, smart yet gutsy: TFUL were one of the unacknowledged legends. Favorite track: Ed Sullivan.
    M.G. Turnis thumbnail
M.G. Turnis Fantastic comp of some hard to find classics from the Fellers! Don't pass up on this one if you see it in a record store! Favorite track: Blank Eyed Devil.

Pete The Feelies are the Velvets’ true heirs, and the perfect band to reinterpret their songs, with a consistency of tone that the originals often lacked. Great performance—wish I had been there. Favorite track: All Tomorrow's Parties.

josh bullard This record is truly unique experience. I can’t really describe the feeling of it. A very inspiring record that any free improviser should listen to and take notes from. “Children of the Forest” along with the recently released “WEBO” have greatly influenced my drumming and flute playing, and my general outlook on music. Thank you to Black Editions Archive for releasing this masterpiece. Favorite track: March 11, 1976 III.

Biscuit Professor Graves always amazes, this lost session from a week prior to the recording of his classic "Babi" is a welcome addition to his discography.
    shuffle_boil thumbnail
shuffle_boil The last time I put Messrs Graves, Glover, and Doyle on the stereo (Babi, at Corbett vs Dempsey), the neighbor came downstairs — the only time in 14 yrs — to see “if I was ok.” Now moved away, Rita says she still imagines hearing “my music”
