kjwa Really uplifting music. Fantastic tone and playing on the pipes, and the double bass and cittern accompaniment is a great combo. Favorite track: Schottishe Kerlou.

morarmike Beautiful, elegiac, evocative piping - can't wait for the album to drop. Loved Tales from the North, and a great set at Celtic Connections opening for OBD.

Timbient Fantastic album. I'm enjoying everything I hear by Brìghde Chaimbeul, but I have to say, this is a strong contender for the 'Best Album With Worst Artwork' competition! Favorite track: Tha Fonn Gun Bhi Trom (I Am Disposed of Mirth).

Erik JM Schneider the light dents their small bodies made on the blankets on the tables in my arms--when I hear this I can only feel them all at once and although we walked as far with them back to the heart of things as we could and we had the permission of every legal entity needed to send them off, they are still too heavy. living with death: we never should have forgotten how.

Ramphocelus First heard this when I was a teenager in Mexico. Didn’t know a word of Icelandic but something about it just got me. Turns out it’s about an old farmer lying in a field with a broken back, basically dying and completely at peace with it. The stillness, the surrender. I felt all of that before I ever knew what the song was about. That’s everything. Favorite track: Heysátan (2025 Remaster).
    dombalint thumbnail
dombalint Every record that Sigur Rós have made is a little bit different. I am personally a really big fan of their folk and classical stuff such as the Rimur EP and Odin's Raven Magic LP. Musically this record is very close to these, because it uses a lot of classical elements and instruments. Most of their albums are built around one emotion. Takk.... is the LP which feels like the start of March when nature starts to wake up, but you still have to fire up the furnace every night. Favorite track: Andvari (2025 Remaster).
    rikm thumbnail
rikm Quite simply a beautiful masterpiece. "Takk" is the sound of dreams and wonder and beauty, and it is among the most wonderful sonic journeys of the 2000s. This anniversary remaster is particularly impressive, bringing new highlights and a greater clarity to the work that inspires further listening and rediscovery. And anything that inspires me to rediscover this classic is a good thing in my mind...
