Igor Podolsky Damn those female fronted grunge vocals come across as effortless, backed by great grungy riffs.

Ben Van Bonn Not for everybody. This is powerful stuff not to be messed with. Peach, Plum, Pear is my favorite Joanna Newsom song and all my friends hate it.

thisboyhey i love it as i love love itself
    badtimesbanjo thumbnail
badtimesbanjo Joanna Newsom has an imagination like Picasso, her grasp of language is broader than Shakespeare's, and her virtuosity of the harp competes with the greatest of classical giants. For all of these reasons and more, Joanna Newsom can really be compared to no single artist. Absolutely brilliant.

    by The 8-Bit Big Band

    CloudRacer07 thumbnail
CloudRacer07 Now THIS is a banger album. The arrangements start to get fantastic with this album, featuring some more varied sub genres, and once again make for the best versions of some songs in my opinion. The Moon Theme, Still Alive, Theme A, and Aquatic Ambience alone make this fantastic and worth any amount of attention. I will say the lack of a album intro track makes it stick out on a weird way, but that's an extremely minor nitpick. Highly recommend listening to this one. Favorite track: Aquatic Ambiance (From "Donkey Kong Country").
    zackarydacker thumbnail
zackarydacker Amazing album, ‘still alive’ has to be my fav track.👍 Favorite track: Still Alive (From "Portal").

Levrikon My favorite albums of 2024, #12.
Pure joy. French girl group crossed with British DIY that blows by in a blur; 8 songs in 18 minutes. Favorite track: Dernière Fois.
    Mitch Mitcherson thumbnail
Mitch Mitcherson Really pleasant French Power Pop with some splashes of punk and nods to the 60s. This has a lot of the qualities I love about Alvilda, but this band stands strongly on their own. It’s a good point of reference though, Chin Chin too. The lead vocals and backing vocals sound lovely together. Favorite track: Dernière Fois.

everythingroovin' It's not even what I consider my cup of tea, but I recognise genius when I hear it. NNAMDÏ has the uncanny ability to create catchy songs out of hyper complicated and cerebral structures. Gotta love him!
    Aarno thumbnail
Aarno The best stuff I've heard in years. This guy is incredibly talented. Favorite track: Salut.
    d_edbeat thumbnail
d_edbeat Nnamdi can make me laugh and cry and headbang and sing along in falsetto all in one track. One of my favorite artists I've discovered in recent years, such amazing breadth of talent. More! Favorite track: Everyone I Loved.

Shane King I got turned on to this album by KEXP and am so glad I did. Hannah draws from the 80s music I grew up on without trying to sound retro. It sounds like they are writing music they want to hear. I love that.

Jack Hannah Lew has been living rent-free in my head for the last two weeks... I can't stop listening to this album. Incredible songwriting. Favorite track: Sunday.
