  1. Fisherman's.com
by Akira Sakata / Bill Laswell / Pete Cosey / Hamid Drake
    supported by
    browncoatradio thumbnail
browncoatradio The funk/jazz/metal album of Japanese sea shantys you didn't know you needed! Akira Sakata is a revelation here, but the man who drew me to this set is the guitarist Pete Cosey, a brilliant player who few people seem to know about. Listen to the man take the guitar into dark, distorted, and funky territory as he backs Sakata on this incredible jams. Well worth your time.
    Alan Ramskill thumbnail
Alan Ramskill This is a great record of course Akira Sakata’s voice and sax is beautiful but what got me to spend so much hard earned is the absolutely amazing rhythm section!
Hamid, and Bill are awesome and Pete Cosey is superb. Best guitar sound I’ve heard in ages! Love your work guys!

sommernat Music for a soultrance. Love love loooove this album<333 Favorite track: Moan.
    sarikat thumbnail
sarikat Erika’s voice purrs and prowls about the mind, slicing through the haze of dreamy downtempo beats and lush, brooding chords. It is sensuous, alluring, and deeply entrancing. Amazing to listen to in solitude, under the sky. Favorite track: You Can't Always Get What You Want.
    Tensen Park thumbnail
Tensen Park Incredible album. Takes me to this place I've learned to love by Massive Attack, but new, and different! Favorite track: You Can't Always Get What You Want.

    by Darrell Scott

    Florian Seyfarth thumbnail
Florian Seyfarth I found this yesterday and this is very beautiful. Thank you for letting me listen to this.
    Jonathan Babylon thumbnail
Jonathan Babylon Good Americana singer songwriter stuff.
Bill works in many styles and adds his artistry.
This is very much a Darrell Scott collection, not a Bill Frisell showcase. This is all about the singer and the words.
    Nice work.
    John Cratchley thumbnail
John Cratchley Bittersweet and melancholy...something lost and something gained: the pain of experience and vulnerability...all wrapped up in four evocative stories of heartache, discontent and wisdom...
The playing is the whole truth and goes to the heart of the matter.
Darrell calls...Bill responds...so the river flows: that's all and it encapsulates everything that's needed in its quiet perfection.
