  1. Sidera
    by Miserere Luminis
    supported by
    Frosty Bear thumbnail
Frosty Bear What an absolutely gorgeous, amazing album. Beautiful and emotionally heavy while being uplifting. Favorite track: Les fleurs de l’exil.
    Drew Music thumbnail
Drew Music Genuinely atmospheric, top notch post-black metal without a weak or wasted moment to be heard. Immersive, crushing and somehow also inspiring, straight to the top of the AotY contender list. Favorite track: Aux bras des vagues & des vomissures.
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail

  2. Memorial
    by Olhava

    sequoia_sempervirens thumbnail
sequoia_sempervirens This record and its release means so much more to me than just the fabulous sound that it is. it is a proof that an emotional bound can remain regardless of so-called borders or authority-ordered abscence of peace. the st petersburg-sound is THE music closest to my heart and i am so thankful to andrey and timur for this new input of hope. all of you feel blessed in exact the way you need, stay safe and strong and never let the connection through music fade away! best wishes from germany!
    Urso X thumbnail
Urso X First impression, this feels like the most ethereal and rarified record in Olhava’s discography; it certainly doesn’t radiate the lashing fury of Reborn or sylvan vibe of Ladoga. And even though this is an album coloured by loss, coming as it does four-plus years into a horrific war that “experts” said would only last a few weeks, I swear it feels hopeful and even joyous in places. In any case, another stunning entry in this band’s sublime body of work. Favorite track: When the Ashes Grow Cold.
    Bog Trotter thumbnail
Bog Trotter This album and pokemon fire red on switch released on the same day! Looks like I'm leveling up a Blackgaze Bulbasaur tonight Favorite track: After I’m Gone.

Mr.Paul Like Ulcerate, but with cheaper shipping.
    Dmitry Nevozhay thumbnail
Dmitry Nevozhay Brilliant blackened tech death/grind from Canada 😍 Moderately dissonant and very atmospheric. AOTY of death-grind Favorite track: Torchbearer.
    starvynth thumbnail
starvynth In around 45 minutes of runtime, Devouring Ruin comes across as a fairly expansive and modern death metal record that touches on various extreme styles with great success. It's not a unique sound but it is certainly unexpected for a formerly grindcore band to have evolved so much that their longer compositions are now their most riveting ones.

Bean Deathrock peaked here. Perfect combination of a darker soundscape and percussion that thrashes around. Favorite track: I Saw the Witch Cry.
    syahaz thumbnail
syahaz One of the earliest punky goth band (or deathrock to be clearer) I've discovered! So lovin' their tracks from unavailable album such as Loving You from Attic Noise. Very energetic in dark post-punk way yea. Favorite track: Nuclear Paradise.

Gale I love that more and more people are trying to mix black metal and goth with trip hop and edm. It's such an unexplored playing ground that juat really paints a pretty picture when done right. Good stuff, man! Keep it up. :)
    10/10 album. Favorite track: He.
    Gareth Moore thumbnail

Kris Faust Immolation is synonymous with consistency, technical prowess, ferocity, and monumental songwriting. Descent is no exception. Real contender for album of the year.
    eManRenaissanc thumbnail
eManRenaissanc My favorite band, still thriving 40 years in. There's no one else like 'em. Just ordered the vinyl and had to buy the BC version too, of course.
    KenshirO thumbnail
KenshirO Crushingly heavy, oppressive and filled with a dark epic sound that many death metal bands could never hope to achieve. Tops even Acts Of God. Fantastic production and some of their best work ever. I recommend listening to it with a pair of Heavys 🎧 on. It will make your testicles explode Favorite track: Attrition.

    by ULTHA

Love As We're Falling Down Love As We're Falling Down

    Ryan Johanson thumbnail
Ryan Johanson I've spent the last several years quietly wondering to myself what a black metal/post-punk hybrid would sound like, or if such a thing would even make sense.

This is exactly the sound I was imagining, brought to life before my very ears. Favorite track: Sister Faith & Sister Chance.
    Phyl Lobius thumbnail
Phyl Lobius ULTHA waren ja schon immer etwas Besonderes. Favorite track: Love As We're Falling Down.
    behexed thumbnail
behexed Aus dem absoluten Nichts, ein neues Ultha album?! Warum nicht? ;)
Weißes Vinyl bestellt, kann es kaum erwarten. All hail Ultha! Favorite track: Her Still Singing Limbs.
