veryvery This one took a few listens. The first time, it went in all at once, like a corkscrew punched through the soft slab of abdomen, there on my side. I hardly noticed. Then it started to jiggle and wriggle around in there, and slowly — twist by twist, track by track — I came to realize what a bloody, brilliant mess I had on my hands. Favorite track: Dog Eared.
    Art Fin thumbnail
Art Fin One of my favorite albums by a singer-songwriter in 2022. Full of memorable songs both lyrically and musically, Side A of the LP is all killer, no filler. Carla has more of a country influence than most other Australian singers but also does pop well. Favorite track: Don’t Wanna Be Your Lover.

Kenneth Pyron The vibe is awesome! Constant movement, feeling relaxed at the same time. Also, a 'This Heat' feel on a couple of these gems. This is my go-to for road travel.
    The Tonearm thumbnail
The Tonearm "I was mostly just riding this wave of excitement. Then, when we started playing shows and actually became friends and musical collaborators, that's when it got even deeper. This new record is probably the best example of our musical communication."

    Cold Lips of Bliss thumbnail
Cold Lips of Bliss It’s only January, and therefore far too early to say this is one of my favourite albums of the year. But we are now more than half way through the 2020s; so, I can say with some confidence that this is one of my favourite albums of the decade. Spacious, suggestive, mesmerising post-rock goodness.

Alice M. Stunning progression during the last seven years or so. The “post-” influences are more present now, but still with nice chunky riffing at times. Favorite track: Sterna.
