sashavonkarl74 I cannot call myself a "Swiss metalhead" and not pay my respects to the Swiss early wave black extreme metallers Hellhammer! This one is a great compilation (full early discography, actually) of Hellhammer's radical contributions to the first wave of Black Metal.
Also, Tom & Co. released a live version of the Triumph of Death demo… Favorite track: Eurynomos.

blackenedhalo The more I listen to it, the more I like it. While the album does not reach the heights of Eternal Hails, it is definitely better than Astral Fortress, but is it better than It Beckons Us All? Pity that every song contains some uninspiring riffs which we have already heard like a thousand times before, because there is also a lot of unique parts. But in general a very enjoyable album. But for Satan's sake, Fenriz, if you want to sing, then take some lessons, because your singing is attrocious.
    Favorite track: Siberian Thaw.

    pinkytheent thumbnail
pinkytheent The black wizards return with their snarling misanthropic magic. This record sneers, and as another observed, it also is really unhurried. That seems to be a major part of the Darkthrone sound – vast and monolithic, unhurried, scowling music. There is a real magic to how the riffs are fascinating and juiced to the maximum without overstaying. Also love the superbly evocative yet shrouded-in-mystery lyrics, howling from the peak. Arcane strangeness shrouds all, and Darkthrone maintains the crown! Favorite track: The Lone Pines Of The Lost Planet.
    bbourgon thumbnail
bbourgon The hype for this album piqued my curiosity, and it did not disappoint. One of the best albums of 2024. Mesmerizing. An instant classic of which I cannot get enough. Do not sleep on this record... you won't be disappointed. Favorite track: Eon 3.
