Ash-covered Ghoul
Darkly atmospheric, yet brilliantly jangly, bit of post-punk. While the songs cohere, each track still sounds musically different enough to stand out as unique. Quai d' Orsay, for example, is carried by Western-style guitar, giving it the tiniest twinge of Spaghetti Western. The Absolute introduces some glistening brass to drive home the "overlooking a 1980s city skyline from a high rise balcony at sunset" vibe.
Favorite track: Quai d' Orsay.
