    by House of the Maker
    supported by
    Bruce Moallem thumbnail
Bruce Moallem I was surprised to learn that Joseph personally hand paints the background art for each copy. The packaging looks fantastic and perfectly sets the mood for the woodsy backdrop of the album. This is his most accomplished recording to date, it is an artist at the top of their game. Favorite track: A Funeral for a Friend.
    nosluap thumbnail
nosluap Yet another great ambient release presented here. I love the juxtaposition of the ‘harsher’ sounds against a backdrop of softer more nature based sounds. Joseph has once again delivered a really great ambient experience. Favorite track: A Small Frog Hopping through a Pool of Blood.

jean deaux i listen to a lot of compilations of this type of music (whatever this type of music is) and this one takes the cake. a couple of old classic electronic pieces, armloads of new stuff, all of which is worthy attention, and nearly 13 hours worth for a mere 8 euros.

    Caesar thumbnail
Caesar Phase 5 presents itself as a soundscape that could very well be the backdrop for the apocalyptic visions of J.G. Ballard, a celebrated science fiction author known for his descriptions of post-apocalyptic worlds and urban decay. Ballard's works, such as The Atrocity Exhibition and The Drowned World, explore the psychology of disaster and the fragility of civilisation, themes that resonate deeply in Bégin's compositions www.versacrum.com/vs/2024/09/richard-begin-phase-5.html Favorite track: Time sleep. Monitoring every second.
Mike / Avant Music News thumbnail
Mike / Avant Music News Bégin exhibits the unusual ability to combine synth work, recordings, loops, and textures in a manner that is alien and strange, yet surprisingly lyrical. For example, Pressure Pulse lives up to its name with a steady throbbing rhythm but also includes gritty layers, rattling noises, and sculpted feedback. There is enough repetition for the listener to recognize the recurring patterns...

djf.001 Very good album. Fans of Éliane Radigue will like this a lot.
    Caesar thumbnail
Caesar Imagine yourself catapulted into a world where sound is the echo of the Cosmic Void and melodies weave like threads of light in cosmic darkness. This is the realm that Jelle Groen and Pieter Hooghiem have created through extensive improvisation of analog electronics at the legendary Willem Twee Studios center in the Netherlands. www.versacrum.com/vs/2024/04/archaic-into-the-void.html
    Marco Zonta thumbnail
Marco Zonta Fantastic release, I adore this type of minimalistic, hypnotic experimentalism. Very penetrating, it takes you in a floating still space with its soft subfrequencies and beats. Perfectly fits ZeroK.

Cody Drasser Amazing and hypnotic sounds derived from strange sources transports the listener from the more familiar terrestrial abodes into deep and distant locales beyond the realms of imagination. Words don’t do this astounding compilation justice so please, use the appropriate headphones/speakers for proper delivery of sound and sit back, close your eyes and allow the corporeal frame to surrender as the astral body leaves its prison-like confines for a journey beyond dimensions indescribable. Favorite track: PSR J0218+4232.
