Obstacle of Affliction Amazingly high quality doom with enveloping atomsphere, dynamic ranged vocals, hypnotic rhythms, killer riffs and pleasing acoustic passages. If you have any interest in doom then this is a must buy. And it's 24 bit flac, thank you! Favorite track: I Come To Naught.

  3. Labyrinth

Obsidian One Fleshgod Apocalypse made an immediate impression on me the moment I discovered their previous album, Agony. I listened to that album nonstop — the riffs, hyper-blast beats, and emotive symphonies were irresistible. So I was eagerly awaiting their follow-up, Labyrinth, and incredibly, it might be even better than Agony. Together, these stand as the most epic and formidable symphonic death metal albums I've ever heard. Truly remarkable. 10/10.

elgogglo Hard to choose a best song but towards the sun is probably the one that I have listened to the most. Favorite track: Towards The Sun.
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
Favorite track: Kingborn.

    J. Wukotich My introduction to Fleshgod. To me, this is a classic fuckin Metal record. These dudes changed the game! Highly aggressive, deeply authentic, and very much its own thing. So good! Favorite track: Under Black Sails.

  4. King

Obsidian One While King doesn't quite match the atmosphere and glory of Agony and Labyrinth — in my view the two greatest symphonic death metal albums — it's still an epic, must-have release, continuing the band's intense, orchestra-driven style of death metal. This particular album takes me back, full of deep emotion and memories, and it's the last album by Fleshgod I followed closely. Favorite lyric: "I, alone on the sly with my drug."
    morkeoth thumbnail
Favorite track: In Aeternum.
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
L'extase !! Favorite track: The Fool.

  5. Agony

Obsidian One This blew me away when I first discovered it. The fusion of intensity and symphonic elements created a style of death metal I'd never heard before — and one that still feels unmatched. The album is packed with thrills, with not a single weak track. Their follow-up, Labyrinth, is just as emotive and powerful. Fleshgod Apocalypse was my favorite and most-played extreme metal band for a time, and I'll always appreciate these two albums for bringing such a striking and captivating sound. 10/10.
    Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) thumbnail
J'y suis... Favorite track: The Violation.
