Ippocalyptica Iceland never went away, but Iceland is so fucking back! I also have it on good authority that a few other Icelandic BM bands who have been “dormant” for a while will be erupting later this year. More thoughts to follow on 26 June.

mourner Darvaza's music speaks to me on every level. And the vocals are up there with the best in black metal. Favorite track: Towards The Darkest Mystery.

oldmanvvisdom Pure fuckin'black metal madness! Favorite track: Silence In Heaven.

hatbanger_ollie A certain black metal masterpiece and they're even better live on stage. You have to see it in order to believe it 🖤 Favorite track: This Hungry Triumphant Darkness.

mourner The great variety of the vocals meets the skilled songwriting perfectly. With their first full length Darvaza release a very well balanced beast of rousing black metal. Again the vocals are worth an extra mentioning. Favorite track: Mother Of Harlots.

Obsidian One Supreme black metal. Dark and ferocious. I love the atmosphere, melodies, and high-pitched vocal style. The riffs at 0:00 and 5:03 in 'Frigid and Spellbound' are phenomenal, and 'Soul Destroying Black Debauchery' has been one of my most replayed tracks since discovering Spectral Wound — I can't listen to it without repeating that opener several times. This is what it's all about. Outstanding. Favorite track: Soul Destroying Black Debauchery.

Ensomhed The intro riff to Frigid and Spellbound is insanely good. Would recommend that everyone on this planet listen to it and experience this amazing album for themselves 🖤 Favorite track: Frigid and Spellbound.
