  1. Pillars
    by Zao
    supported by
    Joseph Parker thumbnail
Joseph Parker With Zao I just buy it, no previews needed. I may check a track out but I think I wanna feel like a kid and wait for the cd to jam it on my portable player and headphones. This was such a sick surprise.
     ஓநாய் மற்றும் நாய் மற்றும் thumbnail
ஓநாய் மற்றும் நாய் மற்றும் The band aged like fine wine. Ive been along for the ride since 1998.

Dan's voice swallows all of you whole. Favorite track: Indoctrination.
    Lars Gotrich thumbnail
Lars Gotrich Well, that logo takes me back to the feral riffs and stark vulnerability that reshaped the metal/hardcore scene just before the turn of the millenium. Zao pays loving and loud tribute to its early rust belt influences with Creation is Crucifixion, Puritan, Passover and Abnegation covers. newsletter.vikingschoice.org/archive/new-music-friday-rust-belt-metal-euphoric/ Favorite track: The Data Body.

  3. Live From The Church
    by Zao
    supported by
    hellbendervinyl thumbnail
hellbendervinyl We love ZAO! Hellbender Vinyl (hellbendervinyl.com) is so proud that this record was pressed to vinyl by us locally for the band. Quite possibly the most killer album we've ever made! Favorite track: Ghost Psalm (Live From The Church).
    trainh13 thumbnail
trainh13 Zao did this without any IEMs. Why can't you? Favorite track: Ghost Psalm (Live From The Church).
    Nick thumbnail
Nick I don’t think I can pick a favorite track, though Ship Of Theseus is a contender. This entire album is so perfect, and this lineup is stellar. Dropping the needle on this record is so comforting and feels like sinking into a hot bath; it makes me feel relaxed and positive.

  4. The Crimson Corridor
    by Zao
    supported by
    palehorse666 thumbnail
palehorse666 bone grinding metalcore that rivals some of my all-time favorites. and apparently, these guys have been around for a WHILE. would've loved them in high school, but it's never too late to lose your soul to devilishly crushing tunes like these. Favorite track: Ship Of Theseus.
    Ghuughra thumbnail
Ghuughra This is a GRIM listen. It's been fascinating watching the decades-long transformation of ZAO from Christian metalcore into whatever this is. Sh*t's bleak in here.

I'm sticking to my original interpretation of the lyrics to The Crimson Corridor, where the 'crimson corridor' is a birth canal and the narrator is a baby-soul spitefully rejecting reincarnation and self-misscariage-ing itself.

Also, goodnight Charlie Kirk. Can't say I agreed with you on everything, but nobody deserves it like that. Favorite track: Nothing's Form.
    Daniel Pearson thumbnail
Daniel Pearson Zao is a solid band. I really cant complain. Favorite track: Ship Of Theseus.

    Lars Gotrich thumbnail
Lars Gotrich I feel like a teenager moshing in baggy jeans again. Favorite track: Flight.
    szzanti thumbnail
szzanti I've been hunting high and low for the early years recordings of ZAO, only to find overpriced splits on discogs. Thank God for this release

  6. All Else Failed - Original Recording Remastered
    by Zao
    supported by
    Eric Clay thumbnail
Eric Clay An absolute gem of old school metallic hardcore. Hits just as hard now as it did then. Favorite track: PS 77.
    glazerook_ardell thumbnail
glazerook_ardell One of the very first albums I heard with harsh vocals. Fun songwriting, great energy. This era Zao was absolutely a gateway band. Favorite track: Resistance.
    xMarco Lealx thumbnail
xMarco Lealx I've been on an old school Spirit filled hardcore kick lately and one of those greats is Zao. Pre Splinter shards and remastered! Sounds so much more powerful which I didn't know was possible! I highly recommend for fans of Unashamed, Focal Point, Training For Utopia, early Hopesfall, and all early Spirit filled hardcore! Favorite track: Resistance.
    ⚰️ Gberdex ⚰️ thumbnail
⚰️ Gberdex ⚰️ I still have my original CD from 96 and this remastering sounds fuller and clearer than it ever has! Nothing even comes close to what Zao has achieved, the single greatest American Hardcore album of all time. Favorite track: In These Times Of Silence.

    xMarco Lealx thumbnail
xMarco Lealx Can anything with Shawn Jonas not be good? It's a rhetorical question as the answer obviously is no. Great Christian metalcore like old metalcore not the new let's throw in clean singing metalcore. I highly recommend.
    wasclafton thumbnail
wasclafton The early ZAO stuff was life-changing for me. Stoked to hear Shawn Jonas still crushing it on vox and stoked to hear Christian music that is still rad. Love this.

    trainh13 thumbnail
trainh13 The fact that modern Zao not only lives up to their old standards but, in fact, continues to grow and innovate is a message to every band that passion for what you do is the most critical factor in making compelling music Favorite track: Broken Pact Blues.
    Daniel Pearson thumbnail
Daniel Pearson I never knew Zao was this good... until i bought this album. Classic, good ole metal! Favorite track: Jinba Ittai.
    TheSpyHunter thumbnail
TheSpyHunter This is the album that got me into Zao. I had heard Splinter, Blood, and Liberate, but they didn't really do it for me (although I did enjoy the listen). Cue the first track on this album. Within the first 30 seconds I knew I had to have it. Bought the cd within the day. This album is a whole 'nother beast.
Oh, and the clean vocals? SPOT ON. Favorite track: A Well-Intentioned Virus.

    Constant_Jay thumbnail
Constant_Jay Every track is unique and good in its own way, start to finish. The production on this record is also a lot tighter than previous releases (albeit a little quiet).
    Favorite track: Genocidal Command.
    themeegs thumbnail
themeegs Nervosa is an absolute powerhouse and a must-listen for anyone who loves thrash. Perpetual Chaos only further solidifies them as one of the finest acts in the genre, and delivers a powerful, full-barrel experience that puts them at the top of the pantheon.
