khmerfreak WOW. I love this band. Wonderful sounds. Reduced light, a glass of red wine and then flying away. Favorite track: In Our Mind.
    Bertrand Marchal thumbnail
    unknown77777 thumbnail
unknown77777 Cosmic sorrow metal. Love the atmosphere. Favorite track: Adrift.

sashavonkarl74 Some purists will say that a blend of grapes won't make good wine, and I disagree. Some will say that black metal should be rigidly following the second wave, and I somewhat disagree. Sometimes, rarely I admit, styles can blend so naturally that boundaries disappear, and that is the genius of Aquilus, what they achieved here with this Opus Magnum, is a perfect mix that feels unity, piano, organ, melodies, everything fits together beautifully, distilled to perfection! Favorite track: Latent Thistle.
    Machine Head thumbnail
Machine Head It is so hard now to do something new in black metal but Aquilius has done it. Romantic era classical music blended with black metal. Just captivating Favorite track: The Fawn.
    Sean Vieira thumbnail
Sean Vieira Fantastically beautiful, dark and creepy, all in equal measure. Favorite track: Night Bell.

RJ A melodic death doom album performed with precision, grace, and beauty. The whole things put out some major gothic, moody atmosphere to me. Probably best you just check it out for yourself and enjoy. 8/10 Favorite track: The Climb.
    Bertrand Marchal thumbnail
Bertrand Marchal Pas un brillant skeud, mais pas mal d'idées mélodiques qui retiennent l'attention. Par contre, je ne supporte pas l'usage d'extraits parlés dans ma musique, ça n'ajoute aucune ambiance.
    sundaymorningsessions thumbnail
sundaymorningsessions I love this record, the vibe hits just right. Air Not Meant For Us is currently fighting with a couple other albums to land in my top spot for 2023.

Mr. Spock Always a pleasure to listen to dreams Favorite track: Blue Moon (feat. Stel Andre).
    J. Wright Reviews thumbnail
    J. Wright Reviews This album really roots itself in modern prog metal, especially in the way the guitar work is treated. It's not fully a djent album but has some very djenty songs throughout, mixed with post-rock elements. It also happens to have some of the most gorgeous ambient moments I've ever heard in my life, evidenced by beautiful tracks like "Solstice" and "Halo". Another stellar knockout by Widek! Favorite track: Halo (feat. Adam Rafowitz).
    Winslinator thumbnail
Winslinator Comet should be the national anthem of the first human space colony.
Favorite track: Blue Moon (feat. Stel Andre).

    J. Wright Reviews thumbnail
    J. Wright Reviews It may all start from pieces, but it ends as a perfect whole. I've been following this project since this album but never actually got around to buying them. It takes real talent to make instrumental music communicate emotion but this project has always been capable of making me feel. The blend of progressive metal and post-rock is utterly sublime. Ambient, riffy, bittersweet and beautiful! Favorite track: A Touch Of The Sky.
    doive thumbnail
doive Perfect to sip a glass to near the window after a hard day at work. These intimate, soothing tunes will make you forget about hardships of life like nothing else. Favorite track: Reverse (feat. Stel Andre).

To find yourself in the pit with ED - priceless 😂

Seriously though, does not know life who didn't see them live. Lars couldn't have found a better team to fulfill his vision. Pure immersion and magic.
Lars' unique riffs enhanced by another lead guitar with the third one in the back, weaving an intricate lace of sound. Thunderous bass. The drummer making my jaw drop. The dual growls (Brecht, you should do that more often!). Thanks, guys!

signed, the tall one in a Shylma shirt ;)
    Wruin thumbnail
Wruin From the artwork, to the composition, to the production, this album is an experience. Captivating and heartfelt performance that is sure to stick to my rotation. Favorite track: On The Edge Of The Cliff.

soulsatzero What an absolute masterpiece of melancholic death/doom! One of Draconian's best releases so far, and a strong contender for AOTY! Stunning performances by all musicians involved, especially Lisa and Anders, combined with a perfect, crystal clear, yet very organic production. Very difficult indeed to pick a favourite track since all of them are great. And now I am going to hit the 'repeat' button ... again. Favorite track: Misanthrope River.
