  1. Laputa (Skintone Edition)
    by Susumu Yokota
    supported by
    Peter Dixon thumbnail
Peter Dixon A review somewhere suggested that this was Susumu Yokota's most challenging work, at times unsettling and creepy? That's not my experience, but perhaps it's how you approach it that affects what you get out of it. Lie down with headphones on, take a slow deep breath and prepare to listen. It's a fascinating album and I find the miscellaneous sounds that slip in and out at various times make it continually interesting, as well as relaxing. Lovely.

    Thibaut Devigne thumbnail
Thibaut Devigne This is my first foray into amapiano music. The only thing I can say is that it is highly danceable. The best way I have to describe it is to consider it as a sort of slowed down house music, with a lot of South African influences, and MCs on top. There is a tension in this music that never really releases, but is also what makes it so groovy.
