I've been a fan of Allie Goertz for over a decade, but I have to admit when I learned she was recording a NIN cover album, I wasn't sure what to expect. I wondered if there would be a degree of irony involved. But I was blown away by the finished product. Peeled Back is earnest, impeccably-produced, and often downright beautiful. Allie's lilting, delicate voice makes these songs feel brand new and achingly gorgeous in a way that I never could have imagined. I can't recommend it enough.
