largeben8989 Brought me so much calm, rode me through so many storms. and I listen to it most days of my life. Favorite track: Street Empty.
    pjhwalter thumbnail
pjhwalter Blue Car is a terrific song and album. A journey that winds along a twisty road with a surprise and new vista on cresting every rise. Joanne plaits the lyric, her voice and an edgy dream guitar into a braided onomatopoeia.

Saw her play all too briefly at Kings Place, London November 11. I wish she could have played all night.
    Mark Rodriguez thumbnail
Mark Rodriguez can't really make out what she's saying and tbh its better that way as the music connects with you on a personal level without the need for lyrics. Favorite track: Bay.
    malcolm thumbnail
malcolm a captivating world of songs, ill never forget the first time i heard them. Favorite track: Band Sit Together.

Omaan Impeccable sound design from a Guy named Brewer. Favorite track: Into the Habit.
    Finn of Tomland thumbnail
Finn of Tomland This is nothing short of some über wicked syncopations with a Grade A+++ producer behind it.
And i for one will be getting my hands on that 12" from Hard Wax because without it there would be an immense void of high quality in my little record collection and i can't have that.
    A must have release.
    Surgeon thumbnail
    Surgeon Top quality. Love it.

    Martel Meyers thumbnail
Martel Meyers My first exposure to this artist, was this album. The distinct bass lines brought me in, and I’m here to stay.
    Harrison Phinney thumbnail
Harrison Phinney everything we love about Carla’s music is here, yet this record has a strong identity within her oeuvre. slightly more sunshine in the mix, more light-heartedness. the playful jaunt of “Tip Top” is particularly memorable. Carla’s music (imho) has always had a lot of post-punk and dub in its dna—this record leans a lot more in the dub direction. Favorite track: Under the Covers.

SeedAction Wanna go salsa dancing and make love to fast paced trails of colors. Favorite track: Skull Pop.
    lazerbea.ms thumbnail
lazerbea.ms I was relatively late to GT and really cannot describe the feeling seeing them live before I knew any of the songs, my body absolutely exploding to "Can I Get The Real Stuff" as Kassie, standing on the stage monitor in front of me, a giant fan blowing the wind in her hair, launched into the chorus, and with it took my soul. Favorite track: Can I Get The Real Stuff.
    dkmode thumbnail
dkmode The first step of GToss's "modern era", and imo their peak thus far. Still off-kilter but less noisy, heavy heavy grooves. Favorite track: Can I Get The Real Stuff.

    AB thumbnail
AB Found this one via Bandcamp's Best Albums of Winter 2017 and it is excellent. Vagabon traffics in about 64 different styles on this one. Her voice is by turns defiant, vulnerable, mocking, and pensive... sometimes all in the same song. This is one to spend some time with and savor, y'all. Favorite track: The Embers.

    Jeremy thumbnail
Jeremy '60s surf and '90s indie mesh nicely in a fuzzy distortion that is Say Sue Me. Very chill. Makes me want to go to the beach. Strike that, it makes me want to go to Busan and catch one of their gigs! The cover of Genius (김일두)'s One Question is great! Favorite track: One Week.
    bunny thumbnail
bunny I am fairly sure that this album could have come out at any point in my life and I would have played and played it. And I'm quite old. I did not expect this. I just love every song. I'm about to hit repeat when the next song starts and then I want to hear that one. Again. And again. And again. I don't want to say what else it reminds me of... it reminds me why I loved pop music in the first place. In a word: ACE. Favorite track: Summer Night.

Ralph Douglas When Sufjan Stevens and James Blake get in on the act, you know something is going on for a debut album. Big scope, cross genre neo soul and art pop mix with superlative vox to create a singular debut!
