  1. Act III: This City Made Us

Julian Smolka An utterly unique album. Dropped in January and immediately a contender for album of the year for me. Favorite track: Light's Last Stand.

ButchAmy I feel very much like I want to crawl into Act 3 and curl up and stay there. Not because it's cozy and warm but because it's like a hole under a bridge while it's freezing rain and storming outside. It's cold and hard but it's dry and the pain is familiar. (This is a positive btw) Favorite track: Buried In The Red.

theyca11megman 16 years of waiting all lead to this incredible banger in an album of bangers. Favorite track: No Way Back.

operaghostcam The album that introduced me to one of my favourite bands of all time, when I saw the cover art and thought "that looks cool" and gave it a listen. best choice I could have made Favorite track: Breaking Out.

Drwg this album has gotten me through more hard times than any ssri Favorite track: The Hounds.

lmaoidfk I heard Light Up the Night around 2 years before I actually discovered The Protomen properly. When I finally did, I listened to everything in full and was immediately hooked. Reignited my love for the Mega Man franchise.

Rest in Peace James Ransone. Favorite track: Light Up The Night.

  3. The Cover Up (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)

operaghostcam I would give up both my kidneys for another protomen cover album. Their versions of I Drove All Night, Mr. Roboto, In The Air Tonight, and The Trooper are my favourite versions of the songs Favorite track: I Drove All Night.
    Sprenzee thumbnail
Sprenzee This is the best cover album ever made. Stop, no, what you're thinking is wrong. That one you're thinking isn't it. It's this. I don't care! This is the one. I don't even like Celine Dion, but I'm shouting "I DROVE ALL NIIIIIIIIIIGHT" in my car. That's the magic of the Protomen. Favorite track: Danger Zone.
    burrito741 thumbnail
burrito741 The Silent Running cover is amazing, on par with Mike & The Mechanics's original, but in the wake of Act 3 I have to give it up for 'I Drove all Night'. It's so hard not to hear it as being the final postmortem piece for Light and Emily, Joe and 'Leave the Light On' Girl. Maybe Wily too, with the down tempo (aka lonelier) bit near the close's rapturous finale. And it manages to sound better than either of the original versions (Roy Orbenson's first-recorded v Cindy Lauper's first-released). Favorite track: I Drove All Night.
