Steven Moses The depressing circumstances of this record's creation yielded one of the greatest curiosities in rock music. With no training and an impossible task borne of a palm reading, the Wiggin sisters did their best to create rock music, as they understand it. It's unsettling, yet naive and charming, and Dot's ear for melody is uncanny. Favorite track: It's Halloween.

Keith Pearce There is nothing like The Shaggs. This record will make you listen, really listen, and then leave you full of thought and wonder. Favorite track: Philosophy of the World.

Mark Chandler This record stands alone, there is nothing like it. As was said, it may seem strange at first but it achieves it's own inner logic. A classic. Everyone should hear this at least once. Favorite track: Who Are Parents?.

fungusmantheking Such a well done album, onto my second playthrough right now which is such a rewarding listen due to the rich sound coming from the mix but also the large selection of instruments used, which all have their spots throughout the album to shine. It's further impressive the consistent style and sound the album has considering the amount of people involved in the making of this who all have a long history of their own musical accomplishments and sound. Favorite track: At Last He Will.

Brian Parker It’s been over 20 years since Fantomas blew my mind. This dense, tight debut might come across as chaos upon first listen. However, it’s completely composed. Just look at footage of them performing this stuff!
