I can't listen to funeral doom every day, but when I'm in the mood for it, ATONE are now among my top choices of excellent, suitable bands. Deep, resonant growls, a plodding heaviness, and the occasional organ flourish—there's definitely variety across the epic song lengths, keeping the album interesting like a slow and inexorable lava flow. The inclusion of female guest vocals adds variety and makes "Asylum for the Unmoored" my album highlight and therefore my top recommendation.
Favorite track: Asylum for the Unmoored.
