Samantha What an absolutely incredible way for Warning to come back with a such a deep, melancholic, beautiful riffing single. Picking up right where one of the greatest albums of all time, Watching From a Distance, left off. I truly cannot wait for the whole album. Update will come once I heard it all!

    Mighty Doom thumbnail
Mighty Doom This album is truly mesmerizing! It answers the question I didn't even know to ask, "What if Skepticism's Stormcrowfleet didn't have guitars?" And the answer is powerful, sombre, and epic. Favorite track: Catacombs for the Broken Stars (Eternal Desert).
    Bertrand Marchal thumbnail
Bertrand Marchal when its huge voice is righlty contained, the organ is an instrument that has its place in a Funeral doom song; along quasi-religious rituals, Forged Relics make the best out of it, keeping its massive presence in line with the sobriety of the compositions that expand in a very solemn, despondent pace. FD hardcore fans should like this.
    Saffron Robe thumbnail
Saffron Robe Much as I enjoy Leechfeast this is just as good if not better. The more sludgy/punky/anarchic aspects have been stripped away, revealing a much purer funeral doom metal sound. NWoFDM indeed and Forged Relics are at the crest of that wave!

bmurator Spanish doom / death metal! Great melodies & fantastic guitars! Fantastic vocals too! Favorite track: Eres libre.
    mourner thumbnail
mourner Listen to these great melodies. The guitars are so damn catchy they're haunting me already. Beautifully executed death doom. The Spanish language is a perfect fit to this kind of music in my book🤘

    mandybb thumbnail
mandybb Lone Wanderer take Mournful Congregation flavored funeral doom and take it to a level far beyond just being a clone. Probably one of the most talented doom bands active today and this album is definitive proof of that
    Funeral Fog thumbnail
Funeral Fog Not sorry at all I got one more album, & this was the absolute best choice, no doubt. Quite possibly album of the year. Good lord this atmosphere is unsettling, in the best way funeral doom represents!
    Kael Pádraig thumbnail
Kael Pádraig Lone Wanderer are one of the Four Kings of Funeral Doom and this album legitimizes their claim to the shared throne. Favorite track: Into Sepulchral Halls.
    tr_🇺🇦 thumbnail
tr_🇺🇦 Finally some good funeral doom, easily in the hardly curated top 5 of 2020. Bombastic, calm FD with great melodies and growls. All of these songs are convincing and bring me joy. This is like standing in a field on a cloudy day when your surroundings move at an unnatural speed, yet you remain docile, unphased by everything. It's mending music that sheds light on how insignificant our struggles really are. Favorite track: Into Sepulchral Halls.

Dmitry Nevozhay Majestic and epic atmospheric death-doom, powerful and full-bodied. Very melodic, uplifting and melancholic at the same time. Wonderful 🤘🏻 FFO: Abyssic Favorite track: Shimmering.
    Poesy Rider thumbnail
Poesy Rider Enshine c'est pratique ! Pas besoin d'écouter avant d'acheter l'album ; je sais d'emblée que ce sera majestueux, profond, gigantesque...et c'est effectivement encore le cas ! Favorite track: Where the Sunrise is Felt.

    H.L. thumbnail
H.L. I can't listen to funeral doom every day, but when I'm in the mood for it, ATONE are now among my top choices of excellent, suitable bands. Deep, resonant growls, a plodding heaviness, and the occasional organ flourish—there's definitely variety across the epic song lengths, keeping the album interesting like a slow and inexorable lava flow. The inclusion of female guest vocals adds variety and makes "Asylum for the Unmoored" my album highlight and therefore my top recommendation. Favorite track: Asylum for the Unmoored.
    Elased thumbnail
Elased A debut album that no fan of the finest funeral doom metal should miss. High-class instrumentation, extremely dark and utterly oppressive, with a phenomenal vocal performance. Absolutely compelling and moving.
