  1. The Golden Citadel of the Astral Sphere
    by JUNON
    supported by
    fighter1312 thumbnail
fighter1312 Black metal with a twist—atmospheric, psychedelic, experimental, but simply excellent. Highly recommended.
    Favorite track: Unterm Glutmond.
    d4ny4 thumbnail
d4ny4 When I listen to the tracks, I often find myself staring into space and absorbing the atmosphere without thinking about anything else.
The production is clean yet feels raw, just like the emotions I experience. Every musician gets their time to shine (as brightly as possible within the confines of the dark atmosphere).
Dolorosa stands out: over 20 minutes of slow tension, quiet breathing space, and crushing walls of sound.
    Ythriln thumbnail
Ythriln In this era, it's particularly rare to find something authentic with a distinct personality... but HERE, I found my bliss! Junon embodies passion! This music had nothing to do with a passing fad. We have a style with its own unique signature, there are passages worthy of a great symphony. This album is truly organic and full of ethereal power. Hail Junon!

  2. Promo MMXXV
    by JUNON
    supported by
    Augusto Krüül thumbnail
Augusto Krüül Beautiful packaging, really strong promo/EP—more underground in mood, experimental without betraying the roots and tradition of black metal.
    katja_s thumbnail
katja_s This album of JUNON is very atmospheric and psychedelic. A well-balanced potion made of Black Metal, Opera vocal parts, lyrics on latin and flavoured with emotional musical and vocal parts, leading to
avant-garde. I like the way how heavy quick parts are changed by slowly, tragic emotional parts, giving a feeling of release and catarsis. Right proportion between melodic and dissonance parts creates an unbelievable atmosphere. Favorite track: Unterm Glutmond.
    d4ny4 thumbnail
d4ny4 An unstoppable wall of sound greets the listener, an unrelenting force!
The dense atmosphere is greatly supported by the mastermind's vocals. A female voice is still a rarity in metal and especially in this tiny niche but I couldn't imagine a better fitting voice.
The drums, the guitars, the bass and the vocals consume me and let me forget things around me for a while. Just what I need in these times.
    bmurator thumbnail
bmurator German Psychedelic Black Metal. A one female, Junon, project. This is frightening! I had to resist the impulse to go & hide when I first heard Junon's vocals... :D They remind me a little of Lilita Arndt's "Ieschure" project in certain places but are also extremely uniquely evil! The partially latin lyrics give an additional aura of mystery to the promo! If this is the promo, I have to be here for the forthcoming full length! I have had it on repeat three times so far! Highly recommended!!! Favorite track: Propheten der blauen Flamme.

Jefferson Magalhães Pinheiro This song alone makes me want to learn to play drums some day! Favorite track: The Woods.
    Roger Grünwald thumbnail
Roger Grünwald Es ist einfach nur berauschend eure Musik zu hören. Der doch zarte Gesang von Jakob Berglund fasziniert mich unglaublich. Schön euch kennen gelernt zu haben.
Mein Favorit : An Heir to the Throne
    Pixel•Dreams thumbnail
Pixel•Dreams Once again, A Swarm of the Sun impresses with this beautiful release. The beauty of this band is their ability to subtly guide you to a space within yourself where you realize the darkness does not exist to scare you, but to show you a new path that will lead to personal growth. This band demonstrates that humans can be like a beautiful lotus that blooms from the darkness of mud if we simply learn to embrace the darkness as much as we embrace the light.

TONY ZAGORAIOS An absolute masterpiece. This is melancholic chaos at its most epic, masterfully organized into a musical manifesto. I’m captivated by the dark melodies woven beneath the speed and aggression. 10/10" Favorite track: Xibalba.
    Kristoffer Grönlund thumbnail

Alice M. Maudits with some guest vocals? Really curious about that. I have complete faith in those guys and I know they’ll nail whatever they attempt at this point anyway. “Précipice” was in my top ten releases of 2024 (in a tie with Einar Solberg’s acoustic live).

  4. Zerfall
    by Ellende
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    Reise Reise
    supported by
    David Fischer thumbnail
David Fischer Took my time with reviewing this album as I wanted to delve in deep enough to do it justice – as just like preceding Ellende records, Zerfall is deeply emotional and rent. L.G., as he always does, once again delivered post black metal of the highest order, and nothing on here feels like filler. Of both split tracks Wahrheit and Zeitenwende, each part also works perfectly fine on its own. The guitar sound in particular stands out, adding an almost psychedelic layer to the album. Onto the list! Favorite track: Zerfall.
    H.L. thumbnail
H.L. ELLENDE have once again delivered a very intense post-black metal album with "Zerfall." There's certainly no lack of passion, emotion, or artistic ambition, but it rarely achieves the same level of catchiness as the album's ballad, "Ode ans Licht," my personal favorite. This isn't an album for casual listening; it demands deep immersion. Favorite track: Ode ans Licht.
    cogswick thumbnail
cogswick Dark, emotional, and moody. Everything you could want from post-black and atmospheric black metal. Favorite track: Ode ans Licht.

    by Bizarrekult
    featured track 00:00/00:00
    Blikket Hennes Blikket Hennes
    supported by
    Bart thumbnail
Bart The name and the cover made me think this was more along the lines of raw/war black metal. Instead it heavily leans the other way to post-black metal having some real serene moments between the ferocity. This album improves with every listen. Don't miss this album. Favorite track: Aversjon.
    David Fischer thumbnail
David Fischer Alt Som Finnes is different from Bizarrekult's predecessing albums. Firstly, the artwork is something else entirely. Furthermore, it is just way better musically – and that is not something I would have expected, because I consider Vi Overlevde and Den Tapte Krigen to be seriously great. But this album just kept pulling me back in, again, and again, and again. And each time, my affection grew. This sounds great, the songs are engaging. Essential, must-hear post-black metal! One of 2026's finest! Favorite track: Håp.
    sashavonkarl74 thumbnail
sashavonkarl74 Bizarre ... moved to Norway 20 years ago? Where have I been in a coma?? That's the vibe I get in this 3rd opus by the band, a quartet originally from Russia. Favorite track: Avmakt.
