Boksha (Leon Buikstra) Beautifully composed and performed neoclassical music with a side of drone ambient, at times stately, at times melancholy, always moving. Even 10 years after release, I keep coming back to this to soothe my heart. Favorite track: Further Foundation.
    Braulio Rivas thumbnail
Braulio Rivas An amazing work of art. Beyond the work at Rachel's, Rachel explores even further in the soul of this kind of music. This is like the kind of album I'd like to make in some distant future! Favorite track: The Clearing.
    Gryphon thumbnail
Gryphon Shameless beauty,...timeless,...occasionally simply breaking your heart.
You can call it ART,....and you,ll have made no mistake.
My thanks to you Rachel and your co-musicians over the years,..this album is another turn of the screw ,...really bloody excellent.

Dewey Learned of Rachel’s through Rodan and Jason Noble RIP :( the use of noise/sampling and orchestral instrumentation makes for some compelling soundscapes. This track draws you into your own mind and away from technology.

BobandoCommando Rachel's continues to be my go-to artist for rainy days, drawing, and reading. It's a wonderful combination that can't help but make yourself feel fancy. Favorite track: Wally, Egon & Models in the Studio.
    fosterchild1954 thumbnail
fosterchild1954 The artist this album celebrates and the music performed blend beautifully. Favorite track: Egon, Edith & Wally Meet.
    James thumbnail
James In these piano trio pieces the magical Rachel's alchemy of post-minimalism and post-rock comes out in favour of the former over the latter. The result is unique even by the standards of this singular band. I consider it a great gift that I got to hear this as a susceptible 18 year old when it originally came out in 1996: I hope it influences others as lastingly. Favorite track: Second Self-Portrait Series.

Stephen Savage One of the best Operas I've heard in a long time. So emotionally moving, intimate, and historical. What a stunning concept and execution. Bravo!!! Favorite track: Red House School.
