RJ Very solid melodic black metal from Germany that is fueled by the blessings and the fury of the Norse Gods. Nornír has weaved an offering that the Norns are unlikely to reject. 7/10 Favorite track: Dedicated to the Night.
    spectral_grøøve_HM2 thumbnail
    spectral_grøøve_HM2 Truly powerful and transcendent.
With fast, furious passages and calmer, more melodic ones. I love this tortured, penetrating voice. The riffing and drum parts are just amazing. Cheers for this great release ! Favorite track: Ere the World Falls.

sashavonkarl74 Classic "Scandinavian" BM from the German band Nornir, traditional BM with a twist, i.e. bit of B'N'R rhythm as well. Malphas CH come to mind when listening to this one (when it was, actually, fronted by Alessia). It's made with passion, for sure, and Nornír became one of the most liked bands of 2023 for me.

Edit: became kind of obsessed with Nornir, the trilogy albums, but especially this one and "Skuld" have been on repeat, they are now part of my TOP played list :) Favorite track: isvinden i nord.

Favorite track: vergessenheit.
    vladthedrac thumbnail
vladthedrac Wunderbares schwarzes Liedgut aus Sachsen. Favorite track: yggdrasil og nornene.
    Frosty Bear thumbnail
Frosty Bear What a great record. Although it’s a total throwback to the nineties, it’s so well done, and fresh. I love the liberal use of melody, and the album takes quite a few unexpected turns. Favorite track: vergessenheit.

David Fischer Moving backwards through a discography can sometimes be challenging, but that's not the case with Nornír. Urd is a really solid first EP: cold, tremolo-laden black metal à la Norway in the 90s. By no means groundbreakingly creative or reinventing the wheel, but it doesn't need to. A track like Winterthrone would have been a great success back then and still can proudly stand its ground today. My only nitpick would be the duration, as it's simply too short. Other than that, what's not to love? Favorite track: Winterthrone.

sashavonkarl74 Had to complete the Nornir trilogy after just getting their freshly released "Skuld"... I don't regret it, while is maybe a bit more at the raw status, it's the earliest of their albums, still very much northern-style pure BM which is less fast than their last. In any case, I can't wait to see what comes next, while enjoying the newest release "Skuld". Favorite track: Above the Mountains.

Ed Conroy I don't have a favourite track, it's all good. Atmospheric, proggy and totally listenable. I love Logan and his music... Waiting for another album but I know stuff is happening for Logan right now. Good shit.
    draedo thumbnail
draedo Reminds of all the NES, SNES an SEGA music that stood out to me a little kid.
On some love I wanted to make music like only 'real' with instruments. So I learned Acoustic/Electric Guitar some piano and bass. The main starting riff in Slay the chopper that real struck me. Just fucking awesome.
As I got older I realised that just cause tunes are in 8-bit or from a video game doesn't make them less real god only knows they are better than the garbage on the radio.
Real music can come from anywhere! Favorite track: Slay The Chopper.
    Awemage thumbnail
Awemage Love the 80s style chiptune synth. Favorite track: Road to Nowhere.
