Luis Fernando Zamorano Cházaro Hi Peter!

Since i/o, I perceive a more luminous and reflective Peter Gabriel, more contemplative about the world and the times we live in.

But... I miss the darkness of US.

I would love to see more unreleased versions of US and So here on Bandcamp and with the New Blood Orchestra.

    Abrazo,

csmatteson I love the lyrics. The music provides the positive energy the lyrics sing. Then the high energy I/O chorus is inspiring.

Makes my 69 year old heart want to keep on beating as a part of everything.
    Dredge thumbnail
Dredge I have a personal playlist with one of each song from each mix to hopefully give me a traditional album listening experience. I've noticed that the bright-side mixes are often very well rounded and general in terms of tone and shape. Some songs don't quite contain a large difference between the two, but I've noticed that the dark-side mixes are much more punchy and that works perfectly for i/o. I really enjoy hearing all the flavorful parts that emerge towards the end of this mix.

francoferr I love to listen to early versions(demos) of good songs that have already appeared on finished albums, In this case the album from which this song appeared, I do remember and I recall just how much of an impact the album (Melt) had on me and my wife back in 1980. The strongest of Peter's solo albums to date. .
    graeme wright thumbnail
graeme wright Sid McGinnis" guitar solo is an interesting inclusion on this version. Lyrically it is very different from the final album version and vocally Peter seems a little restrained. It's certainly an interesting listen through and an educational lesson in the evolution of his songs before a finished product is agreed on

Known for his eclectic forays into world, progressive, psych, film music, and even some jazz elements, here he presents a bit of all of these styles. He plays about 40 instruments all told, and according to his note on this recording, he features all of them here. Favorite track: Gallows Bank.
