   dianekupelian Another devastatingly powerful yet beautiful album by the most interesting instrumental band operating today. Do not miss these guys if they play near you. All the tracks are favorites, but special stand-outs include The Rules of The Game, Clutch, 30 Years of Knowing, and, with its sly reference to Hendrix in its title, Serpent Tongue (Slight Return). This is a band that folks will be talking about decades from now.

   

   chuckiesparkles With the first two Messthetics albums, in order to get them to feel as this one and the other one with JBL you have to yell "JAZZBO" before every song. I'm glad that adding such a fantastic Sax player solved that. Favorite track: Deface the Currency.

   Urso X Spanish atmo post-black to die for. To those who still insist there are no good leftist bands, 1) get an f’n clue, and 2) give this gem a spin.
   
   “Nerthus” and “Freyja” are absolute mind-blowers, the former being an early contender for SOTY. Favorite track: Nerthus.

   

   Der Brecher This really is right up my alley: Beautiful melodies, harsh and tender moments, a variety of tempos - all masterfully arranged. Not a dull moment on here. The Ulmus songs work really well in this style too. I’m a fan. Don’t miss out on this.
