Jarak Many years after I purchased Eldjudnir's album Angrboða, and never hearing a single thing more from the band, suddenly they send out a message telling us that they have released new music under this moniker. The name might have changed, but the quality hasn't (I mean, in a good way).

GMurphrygian I was listening to this album loudly in my car one night when a road rager opened fire on me. Dude fired seven shots at me, all missed my car (sadly a true story). That is the kind of album this is, folks. Favorite track: XVI (Evolutum).
    Lorenzo thumbnail
Lorenzo Compelling instrumental progressive black metal from Argentina. Engulfing and immerisve, the album is a dynamic show of both the darkness that permeates black metal and the ambition of prog metal.

Guitar riffs have a heft and coldness to them, but have a more well developed groove. Drums are similar, not relying on a bludgeoning repetition to add in rhythms.

The songwriting and musicianship is impressive, and the atmosphere is very well created. I still miss some vocals though.

bmurator Instrumental Avant-garde Black Metal from Argentina. What a fantastic album this is! I totally agree with the comment from Arrogant Bastard, the emotions conveyed here are extremely powerful &, when you are that good, who needs vocals? A one of a kind approach & I am very much looking forward to the release of "Gamma"... ;) Highly recommended!!!

Erkadur This was worth the wait, Nok: an excellent and captivating sophomore album! <3

This album, like their previous work, takes you through a sonic journey that touches many genres and styles.

From groovy progressive rock, to blues-inspired jazz fusion (both similar to The Aristocrats), to progressive heavy metal (similar to Thrailkill), Nok fuses these styles to create their own signature soundscape, and it's executed very well.

Great work, Nok: I will enjoy these tracks for years to come! :D Favorite track: Dad Problems.

Thurston Dangerfield when I say this is the best album I've ever heard just know I've never been more serious in my entire life. this is a triumph of modern music, this shit was made for me in a laboratory, I worship at the alter that is Ward of Roses by The Silver. Favorite track: Breathe.
    gaeruot thumbnail
gaeruot To call this simply "post black metal" is a disservice. Theres goth, post-punk, shoegaze, prog/kraut influences. Creative arrangements and superb instrumentation. Dripping with melancholy and yearning. 9/10 Favorite track: Fallow.
    Lorenzo thumbnail
Lorenzo Unnerving post-black metal mixed with a grim gothic / post-punk feel. Emotionally charged with melody, it is contrasted with tortured guitars and punchy bass. Bringing in the darkness from the world of metal and post-punk ensures a bleak atmosphere, but it is all punctuated with a muted beauty.

A romanticism of the pain of life. Not only one of the most unique efforts of the last year, but also one of the best.

Strange Celestial Road I’ve been a fan of these guys since their first release a long time ago. This is one of Axis’s (what’s up with the articles, fellas?) best records. They’ve kicked up the atmospherics to terrifying new heights while pulling double shift in the riffcraft department. The result is astonishing and spellbinding - there is evidence of Deathspell Omega’s influence but it’s nothing overbearing. Favorite track: I Am Odium.
