You know an EP is good when it feels like you've listened to a full LP, especially impressive for a debut EP! Maia and the Squires have knocked it out of the park, with their moody atmospheric alternative sound carrying the listener through a dream-like nostalgic haze. The track Playground stands out to me as its higher energy segments offer a moment of dark reprieve, only to pull you even further into this EP's excellent atmosphere. The fadeout makes it clear: you're not out of the woods yet.
