  1. Visions of Johanna (Live at Layman Drug Company)
    by Emma Swift
    supported by
    Scott Catey thumbnail
Scott Catey The vocals transport me. There's an angelic quality, with just a hint of ironic edge that glistens on a tonal surface built by pristine, groovy git work. Sublime.

btwilson Was turned on to Laurie via the United States Live box set in the mid-80's, thanks to Tom who had to leave us far too soon. RIP my friend.

  3. Repertoire
    by Shane Parish
    supported by
    Graham McGrew thumbnail
Graham McGrew Bass line - so sick. And I love that in the liner notes he likens Avril 14th to Satie. Favorite track: Journey in Satchidananda.
    Mark Graham thumbnail
Mark Graham Shane's deconstruction and reconstruction and arrangement of the pieces offers so much to the curious listener - you can feel his authentic and heartfelt interpretation and it invites you into his piece and the referenced piece. Shane and the original artists are both fully present in all these pieces. You can also just enjoy each piece very much on its own and forget the references entirely or the other way around.
    maseltaum thumbnail
maseltaum Superb guitar work. Parish is a master, and displays his artistry in this fine collection of interpretations. Favorite track: Lonely Woman.
    bobagamemnon thumbnail
bobagamemnon I'm familiar with the original recordings of just about everything on here, yet it's so striking to hear what Shane Parish does to own each performance and imbue it with totally new air. I love this album.

jedgariii Such a great story and hyperlocal with, yes, ST, adolescent excess. Magnificent
    strawberrypickins thumbnail
strawberrypickins Cornerstone of the Acid Archives book...masterful guitar playing. Favorite track: Sunrise.
    Matt Yates thumbnail
Matt Yates This album has some of the most gorgeous acoustic guitar playing I've ever heard. Ethereal, contemplative, pastoral and serene. These are but a few ways Steve Tibbett's music can be described not only on this album but throughout the rest of his catalogue. Truly a national treasure Favorite track: Sunrise.
